Job Summary:
As a Supply Collaboration Engineer, you will serve as a key link between engineering, manufacturing, procurement, suppliers, and other business partners to support product quality, supply continuity, and production readiness. In this role, you will collaborate across functions to resolve technical and supply-related challenges, align stakeholder priorities, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure components and processes meet business and customer requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of manufacturing, fabrication, supply chain, or engineering processes and enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This position offers the opportunity to influence product and process improvements while supporting the delivery of industry-leading equipment and solutions.
What You Will Do:
- Support the Large Tractor product line by driving supplier collaboration and engineering design control activities.
- Provide technical support for fabricated components, with a focus on light fabrication and burn-to-shape manufacturing processes.
- Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Category Procurement, Manufacturing, and Category teams to resolve supply and production challenges.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities and support sourcing and manufacturing decisions.
- Lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts to improve quality, shipping, and operational performance.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI), Engineering Change Management, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Analyze technical and business requirements to recommend solutions that support the best outcomes for the business.
Education requirement:
Candidates should possess a Bachelors degree or demonstrate equivalent knowledge through professional expertise
What skills you will have:
Analytical Thinking:
- Apply working knowledge of fabrication, manufacturing processes, and engineering design controls to evaluate technical challenges and support decision-making.
- Analyze supplier capabilities, quality performance, and business requirements to identify risks and recommend solutions that balance cost, quality, and delivery.
Effective Communication:
- Communicate technical requirements and supply-related issues effectively across Engineering, Supply Chain, Category Procurement, and Manufacturing teams.
- Translate complex technical and business information into clear recommendations that support stakeholder alignment and decision-making.
Interpersonal Relationships:
- Build strong partnerships with suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders to support product quality, supply continuity, and production readiness.
- Collaborate effectively with Engineering, Supply Chain, Facilities, and Category teams to achieve shared business objectives.
Strategic Sourcing:
- Apply working knowledge of supplier capabilities, fabrication processes, and manufacturing requirements to support sourcing decisions and supplier selection.
- Partner with Procurement and Category teams to improve supplier performance, mitigate supply risks, and support long-term sourcing strategies.
Top candidates will also have:
- Experience using SAP, or similar ERP systems to support procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, or supplier-related processes.
- Experience with Teamcenter and engineering management tools.
- Familiarity with Caterpillar purchasing systems and procurement practices.
Additional Information:
This position requires the candidate to work onsite five days per week at the East Peoria, IL, or Mossville, IL facility.
Domestic relocation assistance is NOT available for this position.

Summary Pay Range:
$112,710.00 - $169,060.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
