The Opportunity

Are you someone who is looking to lead change and innovation? We are looking for proactive Manufacturing Engineers who are ready to dive straight in! You are part of a highly focused team of Engineers within the Manufacturing Engineering department whose work leads the implementation of the latest manufacturing technologies and introducing the latest machines. With multimillion valuing projects you will lead and work cross-functionally within our organisation to ensure the smooth introduction of our world class products.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Proactively identify business opportunities, assess overall impact and justify to senior stakeholders for capital investment.

  • Project management – Full scope, development, budgets, resources and management of NPI or Improvement projects (Technology/Efficiency/Quality) from initiation to production and program completion.

  • Facilitate the development of manufacturing process solutions work with functional teams, using a range of tool e.g. process flows, PFMEA’s, control plans. Promote lean and quality as a focus within the business.

  • Monitor and report on project health, including issue management to ensure People, Quality, Velocity and Cost targets are achieved.

  • Developing equipment specifications and installation requirements and ensuring that the equipment is safe and meets the needs of manufacturing.

  • Working with facility teams to establishing the correct suppliers and managing timelines to ensure successful delivery and implementation.

  • Coach and mentor to others in application of process and procedures supporting standardised workflows

  • Work cross functionally with multiple stakeholders to drive DFM and best manufacturing practices.

Degree Requirement

Degree or equivalent in an appropriate engineering or technical discipline or equivalent experience desired.

Skills, experience & qualifications you will have:

Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.

Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, budgets and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project targets.

Manufacturing Safety: Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site.

Judgment and Decision Making: Knowledge of process; ability to carefully evaluate the impact of emerging business situations and choose the best path forward communicating actions and activities that maximize organizational performance.

Problem Management Process - MFG: Knowledge of manufacturing problem management processes, methodologies and techniques; ability to use a disciplined approach to bringing that problem to a successful resolution

Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy, fundamentals and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.

Top candidates will have:

  • A good understanding of Machining, Product Handling, Heat Treatment and supporting systems, Inspection and product Finishing processes.

  • Working knowledge of robotic systems would be advantageous.

  • Experience of leading quality concern resolution with tools such as 8D, 5why, fishbone diagrams and other appropriate quality tools

  • 6 Sigma project leadership experience.
