As an NPI Project Coordinator you will have responsibility to manage projects that have substantial R&D value, are moderate to complex in nature, and are managed with limited supervision.

This role requires a strong understanding of program and project management methodologies, tools, and processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating program activities, leading chartering sessions, developing and validating network diagrams, and driving integration and schedule compression workshops. Assignments may be highly specialised or broad in scope, requiring effective coordination and collaboration across multiple teams to deliver large, complex programs and achieve strategic business outcomes.

Specific work assignments may be as follows:

• Oversee all functions involved in the NPI product development process using current management tools (referred to the NPI management tool)

• Coordinate with Program Managers to schedule and support program control meetings & compression sessions and can make schedule changes/corrections during control meetings and compression sessions.

• Maintains and can lead update meetings for program level issues/action logs, risk registers/FMEAs, scope change requests/logs, program work plans, program cost tracking and provide workshop planning, execution and follow-up assistance.

• Create accurate and detailed schedules. Capture all information, interpret, and identify relationships between activities, analyzes data from schedule updates, works with project team members to resolve logic errors, explains changes due to updates, and recommends actions to resolve schedule problems.

• Lead and conduct detail-planning meetings with no supervision and must possess the ability to work with functional areas to develop their detailed activities and schedule. Provides analysis and recommendations needed to increase accuracy of program and project schedules, provides leadership in understanding and following program and project management standard processes, and works daily with team members to emphasize the importance of the program schedule to be successful in implementing on time, with in cost, and at the required quality targets.

• Provides administrative planning and follow-up for program team, steering committee, and governance review meetings

• Ability to interpret and transfer work breakdown structure (WBS) into project management software. The position may work hand-in-hand with consultants in large program planning sessions. Interpret & communicate Voice of Customer (VOC) and Voice of Business (VOB) needs.

• Identify and progress continuous improvement initiatives in areas relating to Quality targets and Built-In-Quality strategies to meet business and customer expectations

• Mentor/coach and train other Program Coordinators, individual project managers, and project teams in the program management processes and software.

• Create report packages and communicate or post program or project status, may also include maintenance of a program web site.

Required Qualification and Skill set

• Experience in product and program management with relevant tertiary qualifications e.g. a bachelor’s degree in engineering/business highly desirable

• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a well collaborative team.

• Professional with stand-out interpersonal skills including negotiation and influence, conflict resolution, problem-solving skills, resilience and clear decision-making.

• Solid program management skills and an ability to coordinate multiple projects to meet competing deadlines.

• Experience in one or more of the following product engineering, configuration management, test and validation, supply chain management, product lifecycle management, product support, quality management.

• An ability to work with many different stakeholders in varying functional, geolocations and seniority levels

• Experience in electrical, mechanical or mining engineering is highly desirable.
