The Trade Center of Excellence (TCOE), in Law, Security & Public Policy (LSPP) has an opening for a Regional Trade Compliance Manager – United States. The selected candidate will engage with key partners and complex issues across the enterprise to manage trade compliance programs and matters related to the US to ensure activities comply with applicable laws and regulations.
This is a unique role for a highly capable candidate to step help advance US trade compliance at Caterpillar. As part of the TCOE, you’ll work alongside compliance, legal, and business leaders to solve complex, real-world challenges.
This role will report to the Assistant Trade Advisor with responsibility for the Americas.
What You Will Do:
Develop and execute risk assessments of customs trade compliance programs to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.
Collaborate with Business Division, Compliance, and Legal teams to provide strategic and operational support for global trade and risk management at Caterpillar
Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of customs trade compliance policies and procedures
Conduct training on government laws, rules and regulations as they pertain to organizational products, services and technologies
Proactively monitor, manage and mitigate risks through stakeholder engagement and lead the development and implementation of compliance strategies and goals in line with company's business objectives
Effectively communicate insights, progress, and recommendations across the organization as needed
What You Will Bring:
Business Markets: Knowledge of existing and planned markets and market-related initiatives from the perspectives of the competition, the suppliers, the customer base and the regulatory environment; ability to apply market knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
International Trade: Knowledge of the markets, issues, regulations, practices and operations of international trade; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately in diverse situations.
Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship and stakeholder management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with various stakeholders, peers within LSPP and across Caterpillar
Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and technique and ability to collaborate vertically and horizontally, across levels and various business functions, and with external parties
Top Candidates Will Have:
5 to 10 years’ experience with trade compliance or a related field
Demonstrated leadership support, advocacy, and acumen with strong intellectual curiosity
Development and/or management of compliance processes is a plus
Additional Info:
The primary locations for this role are Irving, Texas, or Peoria, Illinois

Summary Pay Range:
$159,120.00 - $238,680.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
