As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead complex, high-visibility strategic initiatives that drive business transformation, operational excellence, and organizational growth. You will be accountable for managing large-scale programs and projects involving multiple stakeholders, cross-functional teams, significant budgets, and executive-level visibility.
This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, risk management expertise, and the ability to influence decisions across business and technology organizations. You will play a key role in ensuring successful execution while aligning project outcomes with enterprise objectives.
What You Will Do:
Lead the delivery of large, complex, cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives from concept through implementation
Partner with executives, business leaders, and technical teams to define project strategies, objectives, business outcomes, and success measures
Establish and manage project governance structures, steering committees, and executive-level reporting
Develop and oversee comprehensive project plans, budgets, resource strategies, and delivery roadmaps
Manage project financials, forecasting, resource allocation, and budget performance
Drive risk, dependency, and issue management across multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups
Lead cross-functional project teams and influence stakeholders without direct authority
Ensure projects deliver measurable business value while maintaining quality, compliance, and operational readiness
Support organizational change management activities associated with project implementations
Provide strategic guidance, coaching, and mentoring to project managers and project team members
Identify opportunities to improve project delivery practices, governance models, and portfolio execution capabilities
Manage vendor relationships, contract deliverables, and external partnerships as required
Deliver executive presentations, business updates, and key decision-making materials for senior leadership
What You Have:
Strategic Project Leadership-
Proven experience leading large-scale, enterprise-wide projects or programs with significant business impact and executive visibility
Program & Portfolio Coordination-
Experience managing multiple interrelated projects, dependencies, and delivery teams across complex environments
Executive Stakeholder Management-
Ability to engage, influence, and communicate effectively with senior executives, business leaders, and external partners
Financial & Resource Management-
Strong experience managing project budgets, forecasts, financial performance, resource planning, and investment tracking
Organizational Change & Transformation-
Experience supporting business transformation, organizational change, and enterprise-wide implementations
Governance & Delivery Excellence-
Strong understanding of project governance, controls, compliance, and delivery methodologies
Risk Management-
Advanced experience identifying, managing, and escalating strategic risks, dependencies, and delivery challenges
Analytical & Decision-Making Skills-
Ability to analyze complex situations, evaluate trade-offs, and drive informed business decisions
Leadership Skills-
Strong leadership capabilities with experience influencing cross-functional teams and mentoring project professionals
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Hold Project Management certifications such as PMP, CAPM, PRINCE2, Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP), or equivalent
Have experience working within PMOs, transformation programs, or enterprise initiatives
Demonstrate strong organizational and prioritization skills
Have experience managing technology, business process, or operational improvement projects
Show adaptability and resilience in complex and changing environments
Possess knowledge of project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, Clarity, Planview, or ServiceNow

Summary Pay Range:
$128,470.00 - $192,710.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
