Caterpillar is seeking a Quality Manager in North Little Rock, AR. In this role, you will lead the Quality Inspection team and ensure the team safely and efficiently performs the activities related to the quality inspection of Caterpillar Motor Graders and Medium Wheel Loaders.

The Quality Inspection team is responsible for performing inspections of fabrications, painted parts, sub-assemblies, partially assembled machines, and fully assembled machines. The Quality Manager drives continuous improvement to improve safety, quality, and efficiency of the inspection operations.

What you can look forward to in this role:

  • Overseeing the execution of quality inspection processes
  • Ensuring product quality and conformance to Caterpillar’s Quality Standards
  • Monitor and improve safety on the shop floor
  • Eliminate any unsafe operations and ensure a safe and clean product environment.
  • Responsible for time keeping, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, and ensuring consistent application of organizational needs.
  • Drive root cause corrective action and continuous improvement
  • Responsible for 5S, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, ISO 9001 certification, and other initiatives within work area.
  • Manage training and development of staff by identifying developmental opportunities, taking an active role in encouraging employees, recognizing positive contributions, and giving constructive feedback to employees for improvement.

A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Quality Management System (QMS): Knowledge of Quality Management System's (QMS) functions, features, and capabilities; ability to design, implement, test, and maintain Quality Management Systems to consistently meet customer requirements and regulatory compliances.

Top Candidates for this position may also have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to manufacturing, supply chain, or engineering
  • Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a quality related role
  • Strong customer focus and ability to influence and lead hourly direct reports
  • Experience with SAP
  • Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment
  • Ability to analyze and interpret various types of data to make informed decisions
  • Accurately gauges the impact and cost of errors, omissions, and oversights.

Summary Pay Range:

$89,210.00 - $133,810.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
