The Large Engine Center in Lafayette, IN currently has an opening for an Stores Controller who is responsible for receiving and safely unloading material to be used in assembly. This role is accountable for ordering material to ensure availability, tracking material in Caterpillar’s inventory system, and coordinating material flow with production schedules.

Candidates must be able to read, write, and conduct business in English
Candidates must complete the full hiring process which includes but not limited to: Caterpillar Online Production Assessment (COPA), successful completion of Interview, background check, post offer medical questionnaire, and drug screen.
Candidates must successfully complete and pass Basic Assembly Training (BAT), which is completed as a part of the new-hire orientation and onboarding process.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Receiving and Unloading Material
Ordering Material
Oversee inventory and material flow
Must communicate with other shifts, machine shop, assembly, dispatchers, truck drivers, distribution technicians in other areas, Supply Chain personnel, and management.
Candidate will be required to stay in the position for 12 months with the exception of a promotion or nights-to-days move.
Basic Qualifications:
Qualified to safely operate a forklift, and tow truck
Experience with EIMS, Visual Factory ISS, and MESA systems
Basic computer skills.
Must have good written and oral communication skills.
Top Candidates will also:
Be self-motivated, safety-conscious individual capable of working independently.
Possess and show strong interpersonal skills and apply customer-based focus.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
Must be able to bend and twist at the waist and be able to squat.
Stand on concrete for 8+ hours.
Consistent usage of required PPE for task being performed.

Location of this position is in Lafayette, IN
Position available is on 3rd shift (10:30pm – 6:30am)

Summary Pay Range:
$23.33 - $30.33Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
