Role:
As a Logistics Planning Analyst, you will work independently with a specialized subset of identified suppliers who pose a greater than normal risk of service loss for the supply chain due to their commodity mix and historical shipping performance. Also work with suppliers to facilitate the execution of planned orders and schedules to fulfill critical customer orders and collaboration which allows independent analysis and related schedule adjustments enabling suppliers to increase velocity on constrained parts.
What you'll do:
* Expedite specific material/schedules from purchase finish suppliers as well as Caterpillar facilities into the distribution network for critical customer requirements
* Identify and collaborate on other prospective schedules causing constraints
* Deliver on key order-to-delivery responsibilities within the mid-level supplier collaboration process
* Lead collaboration meetings with suppliers to review and identify opportunities to improve overall shipping performance.
* Identify and smooth out systematically created demand spikes to even-the-load for supplier capacity
* Meet weekly with the Performance Lead to develop and execute action plans on top service loss parts within the incumbent’s supplier set
* Monitor all incoming customer requests and backorders through the appropriate supply chain tools
* Conduct analysis to determine the appropriate course of action to ensure accurate promise dates and a timely resolution
* Negotiation with suppliers to meet short-dated schedules
* Manage the application of internal policies to pull material from production lines to satisfy the demand
* Execution of long term strategic goals centered on supplier performance and network health
* Lead meetings with individual suppliers to level set Enterprise expectations, review historical metrics, and identify discrepancies and/or related opportunities to improve performance
* Work with their suppliers to minimize Past Due Schedules to reduce pipeline risk
* Leverage Global Purchasing when identifying substandard suppliers
* Review supplier lead times for accuracy, executes identified schedule balancing and smoothing of planning gaps and peaks
* Identify and recommend opportunities for redeployment of material across the network
* Research and analysis are done on receipt grief issues to enable material to be posted and improve throughput at the Cat Parts Inbound processing centers
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineer or a related field
- Fluent English (Advanced)
