Job Summary:
The Field Service Technician I assists with field operations by performing the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of frac, drilling, and surface control equipment. Technicians at this level have the foundational technical skills to perform routine field operational tasks in a safe and efficient manner, while upholding SPM Oil & Gas safety standards, customer service expectations, and operational procedures.

Pay starts at $23.00. Can be adjusted based on experience

What you Will Do:
Assist in preparing JSAs (Job Safety Analysis) to support safe work planning.
Perform all duties in alignment with SPM Oil & Gas safety policies.
Adhere to and exercise Stop Work Authority.
Follow all location‑based safety protocols.
Conduct pre-checks on all equipment and processes to ensure operability.
Perform the installation, removal, maintenance, testing, and repair of frac and drilling equipment at customer locations.
Operate equipment and materials in accordance with SPM guidelines and standard operating procedures.
Inspect, repair, rebuild, test, and troubleshoot equipment, recommending adjustments to improve quality and efficiency.
Assist or prepare accurate field service documentation in an organized and legible manner.
Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with team members, supervisors, and customers.
Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers in all field service interactions.
Properly care and maintain company‑supplied assets, tools, trucks, trailers, and site‑specific equipment in accordance with company policy.
Demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be available for 24‑hour on‑call support to meet customer service needs during scheduled work rotations.
Must work in shop when no field work
Perform other duties as assigned.
What you will have:
Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn and apply technical equipment operation and maintenance.
One to two years of experience and/or training; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Must be authorized to operate a company vehicle
Must be at least 21 years of age
Have a clean driving record, which generally means:
No more than two (2) moving violations within the last 12 months
No more than three (3) moving violations in the past three (3) years.
Physical Demands:
Frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision
Work Environment:
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions
Noise Level: Moderate, occasionally severe
Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including, but not limited to, steel-toed safety shoes and safety glasses, fire resistant clothing
Summary Pay Range:
$23.00 - $30.75Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
