Role Definition
Responsible for Fluids design control, including management of engineering changes and controlled product documentation. Maintains and standardizes fluids drawings and database records to ensure accuracy, compliance, and configuration control. Coordinates with engineering and cross-functional stakeholders to support APQP/FMEA inputs, risk evaluation, validation requirements, and controlled release/change-management activities.

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

· Engineering background with demonstrated experience in one or more of the following:

o Product development

o Design control

o Product lifecycle management

o Program or project execution

o Engineering change management

o Product-data or technical-document management

· Working knowledge of APQP and FMEA principles.

· Ability to interpret and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, technical standards, and controlled product information.

· Ability to evaluate technical information, identify risks, and make evidence-based engineering recommendations.

· Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.

· Effective written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to collaborate across engineering and non-engineering functions.

· Ability to manage multiple assignments, priorities, and project milestones.

· Attention to detail, documentation discipline, and commitment to product quality.

These minimum requirements align with the internally communicated need for an engineering background, product development, program management, APQP, and FMEA.

Preferred Qualifications

· Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.

· Experience with maintenance fluids, lubricants, or related chemical products.

· Product knowledge in one or more of the following:

o Gear oils, Engine oils, Hydraulic oils, Transmission and drivetrain oils

o Coolants, Fuels, Greases, Additives, Specialty chemicals

· Experience owning or supporting design control for an engineering product portfolio.

· Experience creating or revising product drawings, engineering specifications, and technical standards.

· Experience maintaining engineering databases, product master data, or product-definition systems.

· Experience executing APQP deliverables and developing Design FMEAs.

· Experience planning or reviewing verification and validation activities.

· Experience with supplier changes, alternate-source qualification, or product-change validation.

· Experience working with multidisciplinary and globally distributed teams.

· Familiarity with lubricant performance, fluid compatibility, product identification, packaging, labelling, or application requirements.

Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs; ability to produce, analyze, simulate and test product design drafts.

• Generates specifications for parts or components with CAD software.
• Reuses design components via reusable libraries following standard procedures.
• Uses CAD to perform basic drafting such as wire frames, solid objects and array of objects.
• Performs routine changes to computerized schematics or drawings.
• Creates views of objects in 2 and 3 dimensions; creates perspective drawings and orthogonal views.

Product Design - MFG: Knowledge of processes, approaches, tools and techniques of product design; ability to convert customer and market requirements into product design.
Level Working Knowledge:
• Participates in the conception process of a manufacturing product vision.
• Collects and analyzes customer and market requirements, and generates reports.
• Utilizes design methods to implement the construction of a new design model.
• Uses automated tools to design or modify the design of a product.
• Assists in the testing and refinement of a new product design.

Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.
Level Working Knowledge:
• Builds three-dimensional models with basic materials.
• Communicates with professionals to understand various requirements of product design.
• Tests and evaluates alternative means of production being considered for use.
• Uses automated tools to design or modify the design of a product.
• Assists in building a complex prototype of product.

This position requires working onsite five days a week.
