What will you do?

As a Lead Technical Product Owner, you will play a key role in defining and delivering the future of Cat.com digital experiences. You will operate at the intersection of business strategy, customer value, engineering execution, and AI-assisted software delivery. You will as well:

• Define and communicate product vision, roadmap, and priorities aligned with Cat.com business objectives, customer outcomes, and strategic goals.
• Drive specification-driven product development by translating business needs, customer research, dealer feedback, and analytics insights into high-quality Epics, Features, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, and AI-ready specifications.
• Leverage GenAI tools and GitHub Copilot to accelerate product discovery, requirements engineering, documentation, backlog refinement, and delivery planning.
• Own and continuously refine the product backlog, ensuring work items are clear, prioritized, measurable, and aligned with business value and program objectives.
• Partner with engineering, architecture, UX, analytics, and business stakeholders to define solutions that satisfy functional, non-functional, and customer requirements.
• Ensure specifications provide sufficient business context, business rules, edge cases, acceptance criteria, and traceability from business objectives through implementation to delivered outcomes.
• Lead sprint, release, and quarterly planning activities, balancing priorities, dependencies, technical constraints, risks, capacity, and delivery commitments.
• Monitor delivery progress, product adoption, quality metrics, customer satisfaction, and business outcomes, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement where needed.
• Act as the primary bridge between business and engineering teams, ensuring alignment on scope, priorities, timelines, and expected outcomes.
• Champion data-driven decision making through analytics, experimentation, customer insights, and operational metrics.
• Drive adoption of modern product delivery practices, including GenAI-assisted development, specification governance, automated validation, and outcome-based planning.
• Produce executive-ready status reports, roadmap updates, release communications, and stakeholder presentations.
• Represent the product area in leadership reviews, program increment planning, architecture discussions, and cross-functional governance forums.

This position works directly with Slovakia based engineering leadership and Cat Digital IT in the US.

What you have:

• Strong knowledge of agile methodologies and roles such as Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, Scrum Master, Business Analyst, and Product Owner rules and guidance.
• Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective output of scrum/sprint teams.
• Strong knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.
• Software Engineering: Knowledge of software engineering; ability to deliver new or enhanced fee-based software products.
• Strong knowledge of computer software, such as Microsoft Azure DevOps, Power BI, etc.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization, to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a complex, rapidly changing, and culturally diverse environment.
• Passion for technology and eagerness to contribute to a team-oriented environment.
• Strong ability to work independently and good time management skills.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills are necessary to guide a team through production and research processes.

Top Candidates will also have:

• PSM, PSO, PAL-E or SAFe related certification
• PMI or PMP certification preferred.
