About IPSD
Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Caterpillar’s company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.
Role Definition
To serve as an individual contributor on Environmental, Health and/or Safety (EHS) projects and assignments that support and enhance Caterpillar facility performance and compliance. This person
What You Will Do:
Performs inspections and tests planned to monitor specific EHS issues, regulations and company practices.
Assists in training employees on EHS guidelines, company policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to EHS.
Making and maintaining necessary EHS records according to established guidelines.
Contributes to the development of EHS policies and procedures.

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance: Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.
Level Working Knowledge:
Uses safety or personal protective equipment, e.g. safety boots and protective eyewear daily.
Demonstrates a strong working knowledge of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) principles and regulatory requirements applicable to manufacturing and industrial operations.
Applies expertise in OSHA regulations and best practices related to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Working at Heights, Electrical Safety, Confined Space Entry, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to identify hazards, assess risk, and implement effective controls.
Possesses a solid understanding of environmental sustainability requirements, including waste management, pollution prevention, resource conservation, and compliance obligations that support organizational sustainability goals.
Demonstrates knowledge of hazardous materials regulations, including the safe handling, storage, transportation, labeling, and disposal of regulated substances.
Effectively supports compliance initiatives, risk reduction activities, incident investigations, employee training, and continuous improvement efforts while partnering with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to foster a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace.
What Sets You Apart:
Previous experience working with OSHA regulations and environmental compliance
Demonstrated knowledge of problem solving and prioritizing tasks
Additional Information:
This position will sit in the Schertz facility with occasional travel to Seguin and San Antonio plants.

Summary Pay Range:
$89,210.00 - $133,810.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
