We are looking for a China Marketing Communications Consultant join our Customer Value Solutions & Engagement team working within one of the Constructions Industries newly formed divisions, Customer Solutions Growth Regions.

About Customer Solutions Growth Regions Division

This team, alongside dealers, engages closely with customers to create, customize and adapt solutions to meet their needs by leveraging the extensive range of offerings available today across products and services, digital and technology, rental and used, and financing.

The division is regionally focused on Africa, the Middle East, Eurasia, Asia (excluding Japan), and Latin America (LATAM) and organized into three functional areas: Customer Facing, Customer Solutions and Business Enablers.

This role is part of the Customer Value Solutions & Engagement team, focused on:

  • Designing solutions that address key customer pain points associated with equipment acquisition and ownership.

  • Leveraging machine telematics and data to drive repairs by the dealer and improve customer uptime.

  • Proactively communicating and training internal and external stakeholders on the value of the solutions we provide.

Role Definition: As a Marketing Communications Consultant – China, you will support the development and execution of China marketing communications programs that help Caterpillar respond to the current China market reality. This role is expected to translate China regional marketing strategy into disciplined execution.

What You Will Do:

1. China Marketing Communications Execution

- Support the implementation of China marketing communications plans aligned with CSGR priorities and China regional marketing focus.

- Translate global and regional strategies into China-relevant campaigns that address local customer pressure points.

- Ensure consistent Caterpillar brand and value messaging across digital, social, dealer, event, and field-facing channels.

2. Dealer Engagement & Co-Marketing

- Work closely with China dealers to support co-marketing planning, customer events, industry seminars, live shows, and local campaign activation.

- Help dealers apply customer-back marketing approaches across the Buy, Operate, Optimize, and Service journey.

- Support dealer lead capture, lead follow-up discipline, and campaign reporting to improve sales funnel quality and conversion visibility.

3. Campaign Delivery, Lead Quality & Demand Generation

- Execute integrated China campaigns supporting Prime, aftermarket services, technology adoption, and other business priorities.

- Coordinate digital, social media, content, event, and dealer channels to improve customer relevance and engagement quality.

- Track campaign performance, lead quality, marketing attribution, and funnel indicators; support regular reporting with clear business insights.

4. Digital, Technology & Customer Experience Operation

- Support China digital marketing operations and customer engagement platform improvements.

- Collaborate with technology, product, digital, sales, and dealer teams to communicate the value of integrated technology solutions in customer language.

- Contribute to a consistent China customer experience across digital touchpoints, dealer touchpoints, and lifecycle engagement moments.

5. Customer Persona, Insights & Value Messaging

- Collect and consolidate insights on China customer behavior, market competition, project pipeline signals, and dealer feedback.

- Support China customer persona development priority segments.

- Help sharpen value proposition messages that move beyond product specifications to business outcomes.

6. Agency, Budget & Operational Coordination

- Coordinate with agencies, dealers, internal partners, and external vendors to ensure quality execution of campaigns, events, content, and digital activities.

- Support budget tracking, payment coordination, agency scope management, and post-campaign effectiveness review.

- Maintain strong execution discipline while improving marketing ROI through practical localization, resource integration, and data-based decision making.

What You Have:

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

  • Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.

  • Vendor/Supplier Management: Knowledge of external provider management processes and ability to effectively manage the business relationship with external providers (e.g. vendors, service providers, contractors, consultants and suppliers).

  • Promotion and Marketing Communications: Knowledge of different promotional and marketing communication techniques; ability to use different marketing channels and tools in combination to focus on how a business communicates a message to the market.

Top Candidates may also have:

  • Experience in China B2B marketing, construction equipment, industrial, automotive, technology, or dealer-led go-to-market environments.

  • Understanding of China digital ecosystem, including WeChat, Douyin/new media, livestreaming, customer communities, and digital lead generation.

  • Familiarity with CRM, lead management, marketing dashboards, customer journey mapping, and persona-based content planning.

Additional Information: To be reviewed

  • Must be able to travel: 20–30%, primarily within China
