Join our group of world-class data scientists and apply deep learning to remote sensor data to diagnose potential issues and schedule proactive repairs before failures arise. Or improve products and product recommendations by developing a detailed understanding of how customers use their Cat equipment. Or use the insights gained from equipment and customer profiles to design customized service offerings that maximize our customers’ value of their Cat equipment fleets. You’ll have significant opportunity to do meaningful work that makes a real impact.


What will you do?

As a Lead Data Scientist in Cat Digital you will develop condition monitoring models to power asset management solutions for customers and dealers. You will use machine learning and statistics-based/physics-based analytics techniques on time-series sensor data, machine fault codes, inspections and analysis records, and other datasets to identify health anomalies, predict equipment failure modes, estimate remaining useful life, and build equipment risk models. You will be as well:

  • Leading people, monitoring their projects, providing help, mentorship, and guidance.
  • Leading, exploring, developing, promoting, and implementing various projects focused on Machine Learning, AI, and Generative AI.
  • Conducting research on data model optimization and algorithms to improve effectiveness and accuracy on data analyses.
  • Interacting and collaborating closely with the Analytics management team.
  • Reporting and presenting team results to leadership.

This position works directly with Slovakia based engineering leadership and Cat Digital in Geneva.

What you have:

  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Extensive experience applying Python (NumPy, SciPy, pandas, etc.) programming to solve business challenges.
  • Extensive experience in practical applications of Machine Learning techniques such as Clustering, Logistic Regression, Random Forests, SVM or Neural Networks.
  • Extensive experience in conducting data mining and cleaning initiatives.
  • Strong people management and supervision skills.
  • Working knowledge in writing, debugging, and implementing complex queries involving multiple tables or databases.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degree in relevant field.
  • In-depth technical and problem-solving skills and evidence of continuous learning in the analytics field
  • Working knowledge with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc)
  • Working knowledge with version control / repositories such as GitHub
  • Experience operating in an Agile environment.
