The Technical Information Solutions (TIS) team within Product Support & Logistics Division (PSLD) creates and delivers technical parts and service information accessible via SIS and SIS2GO critical for the repair and service of Caterpillar products

Job Summary:
In TIS, the Service Information Specialist creates, validates, and maintains electrical schematics to support New Product Introduction (NPI), continuous improvement initiatives, and revision requests timelines
This role ensures schematics are developed, published, and updated accurately and on time, enabling seamless access through SIS platforms for effective troubleshooting and service operations.

What You Will Do:
• Create, author, and revise electrical schematics using engineering inputs and product group information.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality of schematic media delivered within established timelines for NPI and revision projects.
• Analyse engineering prints and source data to develop schematics aligned with Caterpillar standards and tracing guidelines.
• Collaborate with Product Groups (PG), Engineering team, authors, and SMEs to gather inputs, validate requirements, and resolve discrepancies. .
• Apply standard tracing practices, symbol usage, and formatting guidelines to ensure consistency and usability across schematics.
• Communicate issues, gaps, or inconsistencies back to engineering and stakeholders for resolution.
• Participate in and lead continuous improvement initiatives, including automation, digitalization (SVG/HTML schematics), and process enhancements

What You Have:
Technical Excellence: Demonstrates strong knowledge of Caterpillar electrical systems, schematic interpretation, and engineering source data. Proficient in schematic authoring tools and platforms such as Creo, Adobe Illustrator, SVG/HTML-based tools, and SIS/SIS2GO publishing systems.

Service Excellence: Provides timely and effective responses to schematic-related queries, revision requests, and service tickets with a sense of urgency. Ensures high-quality schematic deliverables that support dealer and customer troubleshooting needs

Effective Communications: Delivers helpful feedback that focuses on behaviors without offending the recipient. Listens to feedback without defensiveness and uses it for own performance effectiveness. Independently makes oral presentations and written reports needed for own work. Leads meetings and teams effectively.

Data Gathering & Analysis: Participates in gathering and analyzing schematic related data, including NPI inputs, engineering changes, and service tickets. Uses data-driven insights to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and improvement opportunities

Collaboration & Engagement: Builds and maintains strong working relationships with cross-functional teams including engineering, authors, SMEs, and global stakeholders.

Problem Solving: Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives. Examines a specific problem and understands the perspective of everyone involved. Works with all stakeholders to address critical issues and resolve major problems
