Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Global Digital Manufacturing Lead . In this role, you will oversee the implementation and management of digital technologies across Earthmoving’s global manufacturing network, including systems like Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), data analytics, and automation tools, aiming to optimize production processes, improve efficiency, and drive overall operational excellence through digital transformation initiatives; essentially bridging the gap between traditional manufacturing practices and advanced digital capabilities. You will need experience in implementing and managing digital manufacturing technologies and processes, project management, and a deep understanding of manufacturing operations.
What You Will Do:
- Strategic Planning: Identifying opportunities to develop new digital manufacturing capabilities across the Earthmoving network, developing a comprehensive digital manufacturing roadmap, and aligning with overall business goals.
- Project Leadership: Engages and collaborates with various stakeholders to lead and facilitate digital manufacturing projects with specific focus on replicable solutions that support performance improvements, sustainable growth and enhance safety and compliance.
- Process Optimization: Using data insights to optimize manufacturing processes, improve quality control, and reduce production costs.
- Change Management: Facilitating change management initiatives to ensure adoption of new digital technologies across the manufacturing workforce.
- Integration & Connectivity: Integrating different digital systems and ensuring seamless data flow between shop floor operations and enterprise systems.
- Innovation: Applies technology in innovative ways. Combines technologies to anticipate or address customer needs; shares solutions across sites; employees proven solutions to increase effectiveness of engineering methodology or manufacturing process. Mentors by sharing technical expertise and providing feedback and guidance.
- Continuous improvement: Monitoring performance metrics, identifying areas for optimization, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency of digital solutions.
What You Have (Basic Qualifications):
- Degree requirement: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or closely related discipline is desired OR equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence of significant engineering and/or operational experience.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve complex manufacturing challenges through digital solutions. Deep understanding Lean Manufacturing, manufacturing operations, industrial automation, data analytics, and relevant digital technologies.
- Project Administration: Experience deploying Industry 4.0 technologies to improve manufacturing processes and efficiency. Ability to influence globally, drive alignment without direct authority, and collaborate across cultures to achieve business objectives.
- Vendor Supplier Management: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and partners, including negotiation and collaboration.
- Operations, Standards, Procedures, and Policies: Knowledge of industry best practices and ability to apply operational standards to drive process improvements.

- Travel for this position may be over 25% (domestic and international)
