Job Summary:

To provide leadership, mentoring and direction to hourly, salaried and management personnel engaged in Environmental, Health, and/or Safety (EHS) activities related to two medium facilities.  Ensure compliance with local federal & state regulations. Validate conformance with Caterpillar’s Environment, Health and Safety manual.  Mentor EHS team members, assist with professional development.  Lead injury reduction and sustainability activities. 

What You Will Do:

  • Identifies common and more complex safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organizations operations and establishes guidelines for protection from those hazards.
  • Ensures EHS training is completed to comply with regulatory requirements or in support of facility, division, or enterprise objectives.
  • Audits safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions.
  • Monitors periodic performance reports for trends and conditions, alerts line management to problems and makes recommendations for improvement.

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor´s Degree in Environmental Health, Safety, or an Engineering related field.
  • Fluent English

  • Ensures capture of lessons to be learned from a problem-solving effort.

  • Contributes to standard practices for problem-solving approaches, tools, and processes.
  • Analyzes and synthesizes information and devises alternative resolution strategies.
  • Develops successful resolutions to critical or wide-impact problems.

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance:

  • Determines criteria for assessing vendors which may have potential environmental impact.
  • Formulates health and safety plans and policies, e.g. a fire safety plan and road safety policy.
  • Trains employees on EHS policy compliance and measures understanding.
  • Designs an incident report form and reporting procedures for EHS management.
  • Collaborates across multiple departments to facilitate EHS management.
  • Controls pollution and minimizes waste of materials, energy and water within the organization.

Top Candidates also have:

  • Master’s degree in Environment Health, Safety, or an engineering field. 
  • Professional certification in the field of environmental health, safety or engineering.

Additional Information:

  • Location: this position will be located in Acuña Coahuila and Reynosa Tamaulipas
  • This position will require to travel 35% (Domestic) between Acuña and Reynosa
  • Sponsorship for foreign candidates aren´t available
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Any relocation costs incurred would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
