​The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters). 

Job Summary

The Marketing Specialist serves as a consultant in supporting marketing initiatives for service & repair and upgrade kitting solutions where decisions and recommendations are made for strategic advantage and contribute to the division’s business and long-term leadership position.

  • This position is located in Morton, IL and does not provide relocation

  • 10% or less travel is expected with this position

What You Will Do

  • Applies previous experience to develop expertise in marketing communication support, and market intelligence within PSLD Kitting Solutions. Will demonstrate creativity, foresight, business judgment, and/or marketing/distribution knowledge along with the sensitivity to customer financial impact.

  • Oversees all aspects of PSLD market communication materials and go-to-market marketing activities covering kitting NPI deliverables, market and distribution needs to stimulate breakthrough solutions that would help in market leadership including the following key departmental and/or enterprise deliverables and initiatives:

    • Kit NPI Support: Develops Data Sheets, develops Marketing Bulletins, develops Unique Selling Proposals (USPs), collaborates and support development of customer facing marketing brochures

    • Dealer/Aftermarket Sales Operation Communication:  Catdealer.com; maintenance and improvements, webinar updates for awarenes, showcase kitting solution offerings in applicable CAT internal and CAT Dealer training events (e.g., CCR Conference, CAT Dealer Spring Training, regional/district dealer training, etc.)

    • Customer/end-user Communication: Parts.cat.com; collaborate and support website update to be current and easier to find kitting solutions

    • Marketing/Competitive Intelligence: Provide support to better understand kitting solutions competitive landscape.  Deliverables will include understanding competitors go-to-market deliverables and best practices; eCommerce, sales/promotional material, web interface, etc. Analyze competitors on the marketing 4P’s versus competition and make recommendation to leadership on way to mitigate gaps. Act as a project leader for competitive intelligence and other marketing specific projects

  • Supports senior management in planning major programs and objectives for the Division.

  • Implements best-in-class practices through VOD from CAT Dealers, VOB from internal process partners, and competitor website and marketing communication referencing to maximize our overall kit marketing effectiveness

  • Customer Focus : Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.

  • Collaborating : Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

  • Creativity : Knowledge of the approaches, tools, and techniques for promoting creative, original thinking and ability to apply it to a variety of business situations.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications

  • Relationship Management : Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

  • Experience with any of the following: Caterpillar Dealers, DevOps, Content Creation, Adobe products

Summary Pay Range:

$95,640.00 - $143,520.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
