The FP&A Analyst will support consolidation accounting functions for Caterpillar Oil & Gas and Marine division. You will perform accounting functions which require preparation, analysis, and communication of issues of normal complexity that support Caterpillar business processes. You will have the opportunity to work directly with future business leaders and provide meaningful reporting and support to Caterpillar Oil & Gas and Marine division accounting team leads.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead system analyst for Axiom and other various systems for the Oil & Gas and Marine Division
  • Internal management accounting, including profit center, service center, distribution services, strategic business, integrated manufacturing, and component business unit reporting.
  • Lead analyst for balance sheet and currency impact analysis for the Oil & Gas and Marine Division as it relates to presentation and explanation of results to management.
  • Monthly Closing and Forecasting support to CFO team and internal leadership.
  • BMS, PAC2 and Capital Coordinator for Oil & Gas and Marine Division.

What You Have:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and 3+ years of experience
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail : Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Effective Communications : Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Accounting: Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.
  • Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
  • Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Knowledge of Axiom, Power BI and analytical systems

Additional Info :

  • This position is located in our Houston, TX office
  • This role is a full time, Hybrid position and currently requires 3 days a week in office
