Role Definition
To direct and participate in the concept and design of complex engineering product or process projects for release to production in a manner to ensure products provide superior performance, durability, quality, and serviceability.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance.
  • Developing and documenting functional requirements and translating into detail design documents.
  • Participating in buy-build analysis for product components.
  • Participating in and supporting proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports.
  • CPPD Collaboration and coordination meetings with Design Control teams to go over the improvements of the products which could be impacted by the manufacturing process or Design.
  • Coordination and Revision of deviations which imply work on the analysis of the characteristics to be deviated to evaluate with manufacturing and Design Control teams changes or improvements in the process or product can be made to control the features coming out of specification.
  • Start and document the process for the Team Feasibility commitment letter. Which imply the creation and analysis for what is representing the engineering change of the product and work on the coordination with other manufacturing support areas to determine changes may be needed for the implementation of the engineering change and/or negotiations for request of change on the design or drawing of the product to make it manufacturable and be able to implement it and fabricate it in the production manufacturing lines.
  • Creation of Markup Drawings – Advance prints or Visual Aids for changes in the design could be urgent required or improvements required for the manufacturability of the product.
  • Generation of tolerance stack-up analysis mainly for the opportunities where has existing quality issues reported by the customer and where can exist interference or gaps issues which can be impacting on a low performance or wrong functioning of the product.


Degree Requirement
Requires a bachelor’s degree in an accredited Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

Basic Qualifications

Requires 3+ years of related work experience in Manufacturing

This position requires knowledge of the Aftertreatment product.  The ideal candidate will understand both the design and manufacturing process as well as regulatory impact for any decisions that deviate from the design intent.

Software knowledge:  CREO Parametric, Team Center Visualization, for improvements or issues analysis related with the design of the product. REDI software for specification interpretation requirement and PRWB database for Drawing visualization and details spread information for information required such as changes details, material disposition and additional data required for engineering change implementation of the part.  Team Center knowledge for revision of preliminary drawings and download 3D models for manufacturing analysis.
