In this role you may be expected to:

  • Have knowledge of all assembly procedures, standard work schedules, quality requirements and build requirements in assigned work area.
  • Train new and develop existing employees.
  • Be the liaison between team members and section managers.
  • Be the first point of contact for questions related to employee job functions.
  • Be accountable for daily team PQVC metric boards.
  • Provide input on schedule/build adjustments
  • Communicate with cross-functional leaders.
  • Communicate potential build schedule, inventory or manpower issues and solutions to section manager.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Previous heavy equipment machine assembly experience (i.e., tractors, excavators, etc.)
  • Must be at a "Meets Expectations" or higher performance rating

Physical requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):

  • Willing and able to sit or stand for prolonged periods
  • Willing and able to perform repetitive operations
  • Willing and able to lift up to 35 lbs.

Top candidates will also have:

  • Further vocational and/or college education
  • Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) in Microsoft Office
  • Intermediate proficiency in SAP software
  • Previous supervisory experience or team lead experience
  • Leadership experience including managing teams of greater than 5 team members
  • Functional experience in the area (i.e., can perform 50% or more of the jobs in the area)
  • Excellent attendance
  • Previous manufacturing experience
  • Advance problem solving/troubleshooting ability and root cause corrective action experience
  • Ability to operate/drive heavy machinery

Additional Information: Resumes are highly encouraged for all applicants. Failure to attach a resume may lead application to not be considered. This is a 2nd shift hourly position starting at $27.32/per hour (includes 8% shift differential.)

Applicants should make their supervisor aware of their application. Employees on active discipline Level 3 or in current role less than 6 months are not eligible for consideration. The 6-month rule also applies to promotions in place (including Assembler-1 to Assembler-2, Welder-1 to Welder-2, Warehouse Associate to Logistics Coordinator, etc.).

Summary Pay Range:

$25.30 - $31.67

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
