Job Summary:

Caterpillar’s Electric Power Division has an open opportunity as a Senior Market Professional. The Senior Market Professional will utilize their deep expertise in electrical system design to help our customers define and develop prime power applications. Additionally, the individual stays current with leading edge of research and development for activities that are compatible with the corporation's business.

What you will do:

• Serving in a consultative role as in-house expert on specific products, service, solution and technologies to company officers, development, marketing, and corporate strategy.

• Working on the most complex technical projects or business issues requiring expert level technical or industry knowledge; integrating customer and emerging business needs into company platforms.

• Internally and externally serving as a business contributor; maintaining affiliations and relationships with internal and external business partners, experts, professional organizations, and customers.

• Conducting analysis of customer’s needs and goals; leading design of solutions to meet prime power site requirements.

• Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
  Level Working Knowledge:
  • Communicates the importance of customer needs/expectations and commits to resolving them.
  • Researches and verifies customer needs and expectations.
  • Solicits customer satisfaction feedback and acts on improvement opportunities.
  • Helps link organizational objectives to customer needs and expectations.
  • Meets regularly with customers to understand their wants, needs and expectations.

• Service Excellence: Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.
  Level Expert:
  • Monitors industry for trends in enhancing customer service, with special attention to CRM.
  • Designs strategies to inspire peers to raise the bar of customer service delivery.
  • Coaches peers on how to satisfy customers.
  • Consults with management on modifying business processes to enhance service delivery.
  • Promotes the use of superior service in diverse environments.
  • Establishes best practices for service excellence.

• Consulting: Knowledge of techniques, roles, and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients, both internal and external; ability to apply consulting knowledge appropriately.
  Level Extensive Experience:
  • Analyzes and fully documents client requirements.
  • Applies experience to developing and executing multiple consulting assignments.
  • Works with client to identify alternative solutions and associated pro's and con's.
  • Prepares proposals and presentations for a consulting opportunity.
  • Manages all aspects and phases of a consulting relationship.
  • Monitors consulting assignments versus expectations.

• Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  Level Extensive Experience:
  • Reviews others' writing or presentations and provides feedback and coaching.
  • Adapts documents and presentations for the intended audience.
  • Demonstrates both empathy and assertiveness when communicating a need or defending a position.
  • Communicates well downward, upward, and outward.
  • Employs appropriate methods of persuasion when soliciting agreement.
  • Maintains focus on the topic at hand.

• Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  Level Extensive Experience:
  • Ensures capture of lessons to be learned from a problem-solving effort.
  • Organizes potential problem solvers and leads problem resolution efforts.
  • Uses varying problem-solving approaches and techniques as appropriate.
  • Contributes to standard practices for problem-solving approaches, tools, and processes.
  • Analyzes and synthesizes information and devises alternative resolution strategies.
  • Develops successful resolutions to critical or wide-impact problems.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

• Deep expertise within generation control or electrical systems design.

Additional Information:

• This position is located in Alpharetta, GA.

• Travel up to 25% is required.

• Domestic relocation assistance is offered for this position.

• This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
