We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Logistics Analyst in Lafayette, IN.

Job Summary:
- The Logistics Analyst will play a critical role in leading and supporting logistics initiatives, managing vendor relationships, driving data-driven decision-making, and executing projects that improve operational performance. This position requires a balance of analytical expertise, business acumen, and strong communication skills to deliver measurable results across logistics operations.
Additional Info:
- This role is located in Lafayette, IN with the potential of moving to Lebanon, IN by end of the year
- This role is 1st shift: Monday-Friday 6:30am-2:30pm
- This role is 100% on-site with no opportunity for hybrid or remote schedules
- This role requires up to 50% domestic travel (between Lafayette IN and Lebanon IN)
- Must be available for on-call and overtime support, including weekends as needed
- Relocation assistance is not offered
What You Will Do:
Project & Process Management
- Lead and support end-to-end logistics projects, including planning, execution, and post-implementation evaluation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, efficiency, and service performance.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring alignment with business priorities and timelines.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external logistics providers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor vendor performance using KPIs and drive accountability for service level agreements (SLAs).
- Coordinate transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities with internal teams and partners.
- Act as a key liaison to ensure effective communication and issue resolution across teams.
Data Analytics & Systems
- Analyze logistics and operational data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reporting tools (Power BI, Excel, Power Apps) to track performance.
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and cost analysis efforts with data-driven insights.
- Collaborate with IT to ensure data integrity, system integration, and optimization of logistics technologies.
Operations Support & Continuous Improvement
- Troubleshoot operational issues and implement solutions to improve service levels and reliability.
- Support system upgrades, testing, and implementation of logistics tools (WMS, transportation systems, etc.).
- Provide on-site support across warehouse locations to ensure operational alignment and execution.
- Partner with Logistics Planning and cross-functional teams to align operational strategies.
What You Have (Required Skills):
- Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Service Excellence: Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
- Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or Operations Management
- Experience with Power BI, Power Apps, and data visualization tools
- Familiarity with WMS, transportation systems, or logistics platforms
- Experience with project management tools (MS Project, Jira, Asana, etc.)
- Project Management certification (PMP, CAPM, or equivalent)

Summary Pay Range:
$72,360.00 - $108,540.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
