Caterpillar Inc. seeks Autonomy Engineer at its facility located at 14009 N Old Galena Rd, Chillicothe, IL 61523.

Assist in the design, definition, development, and test of the robotics software development. Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure that internal and external clients' needs are met. Collect and research data on customer experience with robotic platforms. Prepare reports for management. Document architecture specifications, software design description, verification plans, test cases, operating procedures, and safety procedures. Utilize appropriate tools to debug, test and maintain software and hardware systems of robotic tools. Assist in the verification and validation process. Participate in design and development of application software and algorithms for robotic platforms.

REQS: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, plus 2 years of experience as an Associate Engineer, Senior Associate Engineer or related occupation in the systems engineering industry. In the alternative, employer will accept, a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electronic Engineering Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, plus 1 year of experience as an Associate Engineer, Senior Associate Engineer or related occupation in the systems engineering industry.

Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Evaluating trade-offs (e.g. risks, benefits) between different options to find optimal solutions to technical process or product design problems; (2) Utilizing a structured methodology for delivering and managing new or enhanced software products to the marketplace; Utilizing structured methodologies for managing SW products through-out the software development life-cycle into production; (3) Designing, planning, and executing testing strategies and tactics to ensure software product quality and adherence to stated requirements; (4) Testing software components for compliance with functional requirements and design specifications; and (5) Utilizing Azure DevOps for managing of work flow. Telecommuting: Hybrid, 2 days per week.

Summary Pay Range:

$95,640.00 - $155,400.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
