Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. PSLD is responsible for the worldwide distribution of Cat aftermarket parts, integrated logistics, and global service to develop and support our global dealer network and customers.

The Logistics Planning Analyst serves as a key contributor to facility logistics operations, warehouse planning, inventory management, logistics systems administration, performance reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role supports both daily operational execution and long-term strategic improvements by maintaining logistics master data, warehouse routings, location structures, operational reporting tools, audit programs, and material flow processes.

What You Will Do:


• Develop, maintain, and optimize warehouse routings, location structures, order control location (OCLs), pick paths, storage assignments, and material flow configurations.

• Support warehouse planning activities including capacity analysis, storage optimization, inventory placement strategies, and material flow improvements.

• Coordinate warehouse transitions, material relocations, inventory moves, and operational layout changes while minimizing disruption to daily operations.

• Support integration of new part introductions, storage requirements, routing development, and warehouse readiness activities.

• Analyze inventory and material movement trends to identify improvement opportunities related to storage utilization, replenishment strategies, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.

• Maintain logistics and warehouse system data to ensure accuracy and efficient execution of operational processes.

• Support operational systems and tools including warehouse management applications, reporting platforms, inventory systems, and logistics databases.

• Investigate, analyze, and resolve system exceptions, transaction failures, data discrepancies, and process interruptions impacting operational performance.

• Coordinate user access requests, permissions management, and system support activities for operational personnel.

• Partner with Information Technology and business support teams to resolve system issues and implement process improvements.

Performance Analytics and Reporting

• Develop, maintain, and enhance operational performance metrics, dashboards, scorecards, and reporting tools.

• Utilize Power BI, Excel, SharePoint, and other analytical tools to provide actionable operational insights.

• Analyze trends related to inventory, productivity, material flow, quality, capacity, and service performance.

• Support facility leadership through data-driven recommendations and performance reviews.

• Ensure alignment between local operational reporting requirements and corporate performance measurement standards.

• Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, cost, inventory, and operational efficiency.

• Support Lean Manufacturing, HOPS, 5S, Stop-to-Fix, and Caterpillar Production System improvement activities.

• Develop and maintain standard work, process documentation, workflows, and operating procedures.

• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring operational issues.

• Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve responsiveness, enhance visibility, and streamline logistics processes

• Develop and maintain facility audit schedules and compliance tracking systems.

• Coordinate operational audits and monitor completion of corrective actions.

• Maintain documentation supporting operational standards, safety requirements, continuous improvement initiatives, and facility compliance programs.

• Support EHS and operational leadership teams in tracking and reporting compliance-related activities.

• Support facility and logistics projects involving warehouse optimization, inventory storage, material movement, system enhancements, and process improvements.

• Coordinate project activities with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and execution.

• Evaluate project risks, identify operational impacts, and recommend mitigation strategies.

• Monitor project progress and communicate status updates to management and impacted business partners.


What You Have (Basic Qualifications):

  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Supply Chain Management - MFG: Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use, strategies, practices and tools for controlling the logistical processes.
  • Logistics Management: Knowledge of logistics and management; ability to follow proper processes and run operations for effective and efficient movement of materials and finished products.

Summary Pay Range:

$28.70 - $43.10

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
