About E&ES:
Caterpillar’s Electrification & Energy Solutions (E+ES) Division will focus on delivering advanced electrified power train, zero-emissions products/technologies, and the solutions and services associated with these technologies. Focus areas include batteries, fuel cells, motors, inverters, micro grid controllers, charging, energy storage systems, lifecycle solutions/services and integration of components for ePowertrain solutions across industries.

Job Summary:
The Development & Research Specialist plays a key role in advancing Caterpillar's next-generation electrification technologies by overseeing laboratory validation activities and supporting the integration of high-voltage systems. This position combines technical coordination, project execution, vendor and contractor management, and ownership of lab safety practices to ensure reliable, safe, and effective testing of innovative energy and powertrain solutions.

- This position is located in Mossville, IL.
- Minimal travel 0-10% is required.

- This position is based in office, 5 days per week.
What you will do:
- Tests products, analyzes test data and makes modifications to ensure compliance with specifications and requirements.
- Provides technical support to internal partners, suppliers and team members throughout the product development and implementation process.
- Integrates components and materials, assuring compliance with specifications and requirements.
- Builds, tests and modifies product prototypes using working models or theoretical models. Evaluates new product designs for technical feasibility and compliance with technical standards.
What you will have:
- 5 years or more of relevant technical experience and background in electrical/electrification/integration of high-voltage
- Experience managing multiple projects across procurement, coordination between contractors, lab testing and validation, and other priorities
- Knowledge and experience working with transformers
- Experience and foundational knowledge with following and documenting industry safety standards, codes, and meeting safety guidelines

Project Management: Extensive experience and knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize,

- Plans, estimates, staffs, organizes and monitors significant projects.

- Conducts regular and ad-hoc project reviews with project team, sponsors, and clients.

Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Extensive experience and knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to
anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing or product development environment.

- Resolves difficult or high-impact equipment and systems problems.
- Monitors machine performance and history; addresses excessive maintenance or repair needs.
- Coaches others how to resolve integration or communications problems in multi-vendor environment.

- Uses advanced diagnostic techniques and tools for unusual or performance-related problems.
Top Candidates Will Have
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a fundamental related engineering degree
Site electrification experience
Knowledge and experience in Power Electronic Controls Systems and CANape Software

Summary Pay Range:
$128,470.00 - $192,710.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
