Job Description:
This role will perform assignments to support the site Title V Air permit and Environmental Management System (EMS), ensuring alignment with ISO 14001 standards and corporate sustainability goals.
Responsibilities include interacting with all levels of Operations management, support groups, team leaders, and technicians to meet EHS goals and objectives. This job includes the understanding of Lafayette EHS processes and initiatives and a commitment to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.

1st shift: 6:30am-2:30pm

Major Responsibilities:
This role will perform various assignments to support management of site and contractor safety and environmental programs. Examples include but are not limited to:
- Support facility compliance with Title V and the Clean Air Act through routine inspections, recordkeeping, and deviation investigations
- Support implementation and continual improvement of the site EMS aligned with ISO 14001 requirements
- Assist in identifying and evaluating environmental aspects and impacts within manufacturing processes
- Develop, update, and deliver environmental training and awareness materials (e.g., waste management, spill prevention, resource conservation)
- Maintain accurate environmental training, compliance, and documentation records within systems such as Workday and SharePoint
- Support internal and external environmental audits, including ISO 14001 EMS audits and regulatory inspections
- Support manufacturing engineering and operations teams with Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives focused on waste reduction, emissions reduction, and resource efficiency
- Create weekly ‘Start-of-Shift’ environmental awareness communications aligned with key environmental risks and initiatives
- Monitor and support environmental performance metrics (e.g., waste generation, recycling rates, energy and water usage)
- Engage technicians and team leaders to identify environmental risks and improvement opportunities
- Support technician-driven environmental and sustainability programs (e.g., recycling, waste segregation, pollution prevention)
- Assist EHS Leadership in maintaining compliance with the EHS Assurance Manual and EMS documentation requirements
- Complete Environmental Risk Assessments, including spill risk, chemical storage, and waste stream evaluations
- Support management of change (MOC) processes to evaluate environmental impacts of operational or process changes
- Assist with EMS documentation control, including procedures, work instructions, and records required for ISO 14001 certification
Basic Qualifications:
- Understanding or exposure to environmental regulations and ISO 14001 principles preferred
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with ability to collaborate across functions
- Self-motivated, quick learner with ability to research environmental requirements independently
- Ability to independently organize and prioritize workload with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve environmental objectives
- Ability to identify environmental risks/issues and support development of corrective actions
- Must be dependable and willing/able to work overtime (scheduled and non-scheduled) or off-shift as needed
- Candidate must remain in role for 12 months (excluding promotion or shift change)
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to bend and twist at the waist and be able to squat.
- Must be able to stand on concrete for 8+ hours.

40-hour work weeks with potential for Overtime

Summary Pay Range:
$33.27 - $42.33Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
