Job Summary:

Support Caterpillar's Procurement and Supply Chain functions by managing the development, implementation and support of business analytics. This includes the creation and maintenance of critical data tables and visualizations as well as executing analyses and reporting results to drive data-driven business decisions.

Caterpillar’s Strategic Procurement & Planning Division is looking to fill a key Analytics Manager position. As part of the Business Insights team, this role will deliver analytics data and tools to business users, while helping guide and develop junior analysts' work.

What You Will Do:

• Directing data gathering, data mining, and data processing processes; creating appropriate data models.

• Leading to define requirements and scope of data analyses, presenting and reporting possible business insights to management using data visualization technologies.

• Assessing the scope and resources required of various analytics projects and working with manager to define necessary resources.

• Managing client relations to ensure that project expectations are managed and fulfilled.

• Monitoring and communicating key performance metrics and operational challenges.

Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree (4 years)

Programming Languages:

• Provides insight into the development of complex, cross-functional program applications.

• Consults on the optimal use and choice of a programming platform for a given application.

• Predicts industry trends and market experiences relevant to programming languages.

• Establishes standards, policies and guidelines for advanced programming languages.

• Compares and contrasts the advantages and drawbacks of different programming languages.

Accuracy and Attention to Detail:

• Evaluates manual and electronic tools and techniques for enhancing accuracy.

• Designs techniques for measuring the cost and impact of errors.

• Discusses the value and associated costs of formal walkthroughs.

• Monitors the industry for new tools and techniques in assuring accuracy.

• Coaches others in methods of identifying and correcting errors, oversights and omissions.

• Supports and communicates the organization's quality management process.

Organizational Leadership:

• Promotes efficacy through monitoring, coaching & motivating subordinates, intervention, etc.

• Translates vision into specific functional or departmental initiatives.

• Uses emotional contagion to affect the mood of group members, tone of group and group processes.

• Uses a normative decision model (with leadership styles and situational variables) to select style.

• Initiates structure: role clarification, setting standards, holding subordinates accountable, etc.

Emerging Technologies:

• Evaluates best practices of emerging information technologies to learn and understand principles and applications.

• Evaluates business accuracy and productivity levels derived from information technology influences.

• Guides junior-level staff on the effective implementation of new information technologies within the organization.

• Determines long-term, strategic requirements for the design of information technologies.

• Monitors information technology users to ensure compliance with organizational policies.

• Resolves all technical and administrative problems that occur in the design, application and evaluation of information technology.

Additional Information

The location for this position is Mossville, IL.

Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.

This position will require less than 10% travel.

Summary Pay Range:

$144,960.00 - $235,440.00
