As a Project Management Lead, you will be responsible for managing complex projects involving multiple functions, organizations, products, or value chains. Your primary focus will be on an important initiative with Vale, a global mining giant.

Recently Vale and Caterpillar announced an agreement that will focus on productivity and innovation, including carbon reduction initiatives. The aim is to support Vale in achieving its goals of reducing carbon emissions by 33% by 2030 and zeroing its net emissions by 2050. We will also begin a joint study on a dual-fuel solution for haul trucks operating on ethanol and diesel fuel.

You'll be right in the middle of this, working with great people and making a real difference for the environment.

What you will do:

• Develop a project plan to deliver the scope defined in the agreement between Caterpillar and Vale.
• Coordinating resources across multiple internal and external partners including product development, commercial teams, dealers, value chain, and product support.
• Overseeing project progress and costs; communicating status with stakeholders and participating functional areas; addressing and resolving problems.
• Directing, motivating, and developing project team members.

What skills you will have:

Project Management: Extensive experience in project management , such as CPI, 6 Sigma Black belt, etc. Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

• Manages multiple high-risk, high-cost projects involving multiple stakeholders.

• Champion open communication among project stakeholders.

• Coordination between multiple functional team across the Caterpillar Enterprise, Dealership and Customer.

• Monitors major projects for critical path and actual status versus planned.

Effective Communications: Superior communication skills – both written and verbal. Ability to provide regular updates to the customer.

Team Management: Knowledge of effective team building techniques; ability to form and manage effective teams.

Top Candidates will also have:

Degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or MBA curriculum.

Prior experience of program management – CPI projects, Black Belt Projects, NSI Projects

Additional Information:

This position requires the candidate to work full-time in the Tucson, AZ office.

This position may require 10 % travel.

Relocation is available.

Summary Pay Range:

$126,000.00 - $189,000.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
