Python Developer

Role Definition:

This team is responsible for managing the business partners Snowflake platform. We have developed a Python package to manage our ETL activities. This advanced package is used to extract, transform, and load data coming from various sources into our Snowflake database.

As a Python Developer, you will be responsible for maintaining our Python ETL package and developing new functionalities. Partnering with our DBA, your role will also be to follow up ETL jobs execution, troubleshoot and resolve any issues with the ETL jobs. Our team is located both in Europe and in the US, the business partners we support are located all other the globe, so you will have the opportunity to interact with people from different continent and cultures.

What You Do:

  • Maintain and update the ETL package developed by the team in Python.

  • Ensure that ETL jobs run correctly and efficiently and monitor their performance and status.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with the ETL jobs or the data sources and communicate with the data owners.

  • Create and access Snowflake objects such as tables, views to ensure that the data is correctly loaded into the Snowflake database.

What You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • At least 1 year of experience in Python development.

  • Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases, preferably Snowflake.

  • Basic experience with data modeling and data quality concepts.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

System Testing: Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.
 

Level Basic Understanding:

  • Documents the standard processes and procedures involved in system testing.

  • Explains the importance of thorough system testing prior to implementation.

  • Identifies common errors that occur in standard system testing activities.

Education/Experience: Degree or equivalent experience desired

Additional Info :

  • The primary location for this position is Peoria, IL, Dallas, TX or Nashville, TN.

  • This role requires 3 days onsite.

  • Relocation is NOT available.
