Job Summary

The Marketing Manager role supports and leads development of dealer specific SGP (Strategic Growth Plans) to support future services growth across multiple industries. The role involves working with and leading dealer and Caterpillar teams through deep data analysis, defining opportunity concentrations, identifying potential solutions, and ultimately building a granular execution plan which will lead to robust governance and growth over the next 1-3 years. This position will be focused on Construction Industries. The role will be segmenting the business analysis to uncover unique customer attributes and business drivers which can be leveraged to create solutions for individual segments.

What You Will Do

  • Leading cross functional teams to common objectives

  • Draw conclusions and provide strategic and tactical recommendations from data, VOC, and VOB drivers

  • Developing 1-3 year strategic and tactical execution plans with a focus on business growth

  • Developing detailed action plans which can be built into a governable project

  • Identifying potential roadblocks across the organization and working across teams to enable progress

  • Setting clear scope, timelines, and success metrics for the project

  • Stakeholder management: aligning leaders, partners and teams

What You Have

  • Customer Focus: Extensive experience of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.

  • Decision Making & Critical Thinking: Extensive experience of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

  • Negotiating: Working knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.

  • Relationship Management: Extensive experience in relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

  • Strategic Thinking: Working knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.

  • Value Selling: Working knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.

  • Business Acumen: Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Influence: Working knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.

Top Candidate Will Also Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Business or Engineering related field and industry experience.

  • Expertise in Excel, Power Point, and other business-related software

  • Previous experience and strong knowledge working with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and distribution relationships

  • Deep knowledge and commercial experiences in Construction industries, specifically around customer services needs and what customers value in services

  • Experience and deep understanding of how a customer, dealer, machine works and when and how aftermarket support is utilized, customers segmentation (Do it myself, mine operator, contractors, etc.) and dealer coverage/interaction

  • Experience with customers and what customers consider when making their decisions on buying parts, services, rebuilds and what Cat customers value in services offerings

  • Strong Facilitation/Critical thinking skills

  • Digitally curious with a strong interest in AI tools and innovations

Additional Informational

  • Minimum 25% business travel is expected

  • This position requires working onsite five days a week.
