Job Description:

Your Work Shapes the World at Caterpillar Inc.

When you join Caterpillar, you're joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do – but also about each other. We are the makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are creating stronger, more sustainable communities. We don't just talk about progress and innovation here – we make it happen, with our customers, where we work and live. Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.

Job Summary:

The AI Accelerator is a key enabler of Caterpillar’s next chapter — designed to enable and scale AI adoption and progress across the enterprise. Its mission is to identify opportunities, run experiments, accelerate adoption, ensure AI value realization, support strategic partner engagement, and help develop the frameworks to scale AI solutions globally.

Communications and strategy enablement are critical to this mission. Without clear and enterprise-wide messaging, shared vocabulary, and visible progress, the enterprise risks confusion, slow adoption, and missed opportunities. This role will demystify AI, support stakeholder alignment, and create the momentum needed to embed AI as a core enabler of our strategy.

What You Will Do:

This is a senior, enterprise-facing role reporting directly to the Head of AI Accelerator. The Senior Manager will serve as the AI Accelerator’s communications and strategy partner — translating the AI strategy into compelling narratives, enabling leadership alignment, and equipping teams and dealers to confidently adopt AI solutions.

This role is both strategic and operational, blending communications, change management, and program orchestration to ensure the AI Accelerator delivers value in its first year and beyond.

What You Will Have:

Strategic Communications & Narrative Development

  • Define Caterpillar’s enterprise-wide AI narrative and vocabulary, articulating AI’s connection to achieving business outcomes and its applications to key functions.
  • Explain “what we are doing and why” through consistent, clear messaging that resonates across functions, regions, and stakeholders (including employees, dealers, external partners, media).
  • Develop and deliver compelling narratives, engaging case materials, and presentations to senior business audiences
  • Tell success stories early and often to build momentum and showcase value creation.
  • Partner with enterprise communications on external thought leadership positioning.
  • Design and execute change communications to support adoption of new AI-enabled ways of working.
  • Be a thought leader for applying AI within communications and to daily work, e.g. through personalization at scale.

Strategy & Enablement

  • Engage with key stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure their active participation in the transformation process; develop and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders, corporate communications, and other professionals to ensure alignment of messaging and processes
  • Partner with AI Accelerator leader and AI Mission Teams to frame business problems, align priorities, and maintain focus on enterprise outcomes.
  • Facilitate leadership alignment forums, ensuring decision-making stays timely and informed. Share best practices and learnings across Mission Teams.
  • Build toolkits, playbooks, and templates so Mission Teams can share, scale, and support adoption of AI solutions consistently and confidently.

Stakeholder Engagement & Culture-Building

  • Map and engage key stakeholders across employees, dealers, and partners.
  • Anticipate concerns, address questions, and build trust in AI-enabled ways of working.
  • Foster community spaces where employees can learn, experiment, and share wins — creating an “AI-first” culture.

Why This Role Matters:

AI is one of Caterpillar’s most powerful levers for growth and transformation. This role ensures employees, dealers, and stakeholders understand not just what we are building, but why it matters. By pairing communications excellence with strategy enablement, this leader will accelerate adoption, create alignment, and position Caterpillar as a leader in applied AI — internally and externally.

Additional Information:

This position will be based out of our Denver, CO; Peoria, IL or Irving, TX offices.

What You Will Get:

Working with a Fortune 100 leader, you can build your career on a global scale and take advantage of development opportunities with emerging technologies. We’ve created an inclusive environment for you to explore your passions, make an impact and do the work that really matters. Join Us.
