CATERPILLAR LARGE POWER SYSTEMS
We design and manufacture Cat C27, C32, 3400, 3500, C175, 3600 and C280 platforms; Perkins 4000 series and 5000 series platforms and MWM gas engine platforms, drivetrains and engine system components. Through our global organization, we design and manufacture the most comprehensive lineup of large diesel and natural gas engines in the industry, as well as engine components and powertrains. The large engine product portfolio includes Cat, Perkins and MWM branded products. Applications include Cat machines, electric power generation, marine, oil & gas, industrial and locomotive.
The Large Power Systems Division in Griffin, GA is seeking a dynamic and experienced Quality Manager to lead and advance our quality strategy. Reporting directly to the Director of Manufacturing Operations, this role is responsible for the administration, governance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), while driving the deployment of Built-In Quality (BIQ) principles across the organization.
The Quality Manager will serve as a key leader in shaping a high-performance, defect-free culture by championing transformational change, fostering a growth mindset, and promoting continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a strong ability to influence cross-functional teams, elevate quality standards, and ensure sustainable operational excellence.
What you will do:
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System & Lean Initiatives.
- Drive adoption and execution of Built-In Quality methodologies across manufacturing operations.
- Champion a culture of quality, accountability, and zero-defect mindset.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to identify and eliminate sources of waste and variation.
- Lead quality transformation initiatives aligned with business growth objectives.
- Develop team capability through coaching, training, and leadership in quality best practices.
- Monitor key quality metrics and ensure proactive problem-solving and corrective actions with a Customer-Back mindset.
- Manage process to achieve compliance for internal quality audits and coordinate external on-site audits; analyzing all product development and manufacturing procedures to identify deviations from quality standards and recommend and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with key regulatory agencies and audit staff.
Skills you must have:
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Extensive knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
- Influencing: Extensive knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.
- Planning and Organizing: Extensive knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
- Problem Solving: Extensive knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
- Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
- Quality Management System (QMS): Knowledge of Quality Management System's (QMS) functions, features, and capabilities; ability to design, implement, test, and maintain Quality Management Systems to consistently meet customer requirements and regulatory compliances.
- Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.
- Relationship Management: Extensive knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
- Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required

Summary Pay Range:
$159,120.00 - $238,680.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
