Job Title: Materials Specialist
Salary: £14.27 per hour
Location: Larne
Benefits:
Up to 5% bonus
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
Contributory pension scheme - Caterpillar will double the employee's contribution up to 6%
Contributory share scheme - Caterpillar will match 50% of the employee's contribution.

This position requires working on site 4 days a week.

The opportunity
As a Material Specialist working for Caterpillar, you will have the opportunity to work with and contribute
towards a team of semi skilled and skilled employees. This semi skilled role allows you to develop your
communication and interpersonal skills as well as use your initiative. You will interact with hourly and
salaried employees at your facility and will receive guidance from your Team Leader. Many opportunities
exist to those Material Specialists who are keen to progress in the production environment.
What you will do:
Involves the use of some power tools, hand tools, and some checking equipment
Operating forklift truck and other relevant equipment for on site component/equipment movements
Loading boxes, crates, skids, frames etc. for waste disposal
Checking parts, completing picks, quantity/quality control of stock.
Complete necessary paperwork relating to component equipment movements
Inspects, maintains and operates machinery within relevant company guidelines
Compliance with safety and quality standards
Compliance with 5S programme and other business improvement initiatives
Display behaviour and conduct fitting with our Values in Action
Train other employees if and when required
Any other appropriate duties
What you have:
Proficient using a hand-held scanner to scan barcodes for picks
Proficient knowledge of WM SAP
Forklift truck license
Demonstrable experience with adhering to quality standards within a manufacturing environment.
Experience with using power and hand tools.
Proficient level of literacy and numeracy in relation to conducting stock control
Previous experience working in a lean environment
Working at heights may be necessary
Ability to prioritize and organize sequence of work on occasion
