Caterpillar’s CISM division is hiring for Sr. Product Procurement Engineer in Peoria, IL!

Role Summary: In this role you will manage safe source of information for part development and resourcing projects through New Product Introduction (NPI), Continuous Product Improvement (CPI), and New Source Introduction (NSI), cost initiatives, and other related activities by collaborating with design control engineers, value chain engineering, product group teams, life cycle management teams, and procurement category teams.

What You’ll Do (Job Duties)

  • Lead Hydraulics ELITE CPPD Team (ECT) meetings under guidance of ECT owner to ensure alignment across disciplines for source decisions. Manage source change approval requirements for ECT, Enterprise Component Strategy (ECS), Earthmoving source council, and trade.
  • Drive organizational alignment through data management including procurement spend and savings PowerBI, monthly supplier performance metrics, buyer responsibility, ECT project trackers
  • Complete Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis with inputs from buyers and engineers following current Business Resources guidance
  • Driving Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) through cost modeling, design for manufacturability, and leveraging suppliers’ capabilities.
  • Data analysis to identify cost and performance opportunities.
  • Data grief management analyzing part attributes to determine appropriate engineering and procurement coding and ownership responsibilities
  • Data analysis and proposals for Annual Business Plan (ABP), Cost reduction tracking, and Rolling Business Model (RBM) planning

What You Have (Core Skills)

  • Data-driven Decision Making: Knowledge of the data-driven decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to gather and analyze data to make organizational decisions that align with strategic business objectives and goals.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Cost-Benefit Analysis: Knowledge of the principles and tools used in cost-benefit analysis; ability to analyze the purpose and scope of a producer, product, process, or project in terms of cost and benefits.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Knowledge of strategic sourcing methods, technologies and processes; ability to analyze, improve and re-evaluate organizational procurement process continuously.

Top Candidates Will Also Have

  • Expertise in engineering processes and tools
  • Expertise in procurement processes and tools
  • Experience in APQP process and Quality Project Management.
  • Experience with Lean six sigma or equivalent Project Management experience.
  • Understanding of New Product Introduction (NPI) and New Site Introduction (NSI) processes.

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
