Come join the Global Parts Pricing team in an exciting, fast paced environment of innovation. Build Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence solutions to support data-driven business decisions and insights. Lead in a collaborative environment focused on enhancing business outcomes.



What You Will Do:

  • Provide thought leadership in ML and AI solution to improve business outcomes.
  • Support the data gathering, data mining, and data processing of large volumes of information.
  • Explore, promote, and implement data capabilities through machine learning and AI techniques.
  • Define requirements and scope of data analyses; presenting and reporting possible business insights to management and peers using data visualization technologies.
  • Research machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms to improve effectiveness, accuracy, and timeliness of data analyses.
  • Coach and lead junior data scientists.



What You Will Have:

  • Machine Learning: Extensive knowledge of principles, technologies and algorithms of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and Gen AI; ability to develop, implement and deliver related analysis, ML/AI models, systems, products and services.
  • Programming Languages: Extensive knowledge of concepts and capabilities of applying Python programming; ability to use tools, techniques and platforms in order to write effective and efficient programs.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Extensive understanding of the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete complex tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Analytical Thinking: Extensive knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Requirements Analysis: Working knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.

Considerations for Top Candidates:

  • Typically, Bachelor’s in Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Engineering, or related quantitative field. Master’s degree or greater preferred.
  • Extensive experience utilizing Machine Learning techniques such as clustering, classification, regression, outlier identification, NLP, deep neural networks, RNNs, GANS, etc. (typically 6+ years)
  • Track record of recognizing opportunities for application of machine learning and AI in making business improvements.
  • Expertise in conducting data mining and cleaning initiatives.
  • Advanced experience with version control / repositories such as GitHub
  • Demonstrated ability to create machine learning/AI models, pipelines, and/or applications in Python, PySpark, etc. using large datasets and putting those models into production.
  • Apply Python and its libraries in machine learning, such as Scikit-Learn, Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch or similar.
  • Fluent in SQL.
  • Diagnose, report, and fix programming issues. Support and develop best programming and modeling practice.
  • Experience implementing ML/AI solutions in a Cloud environment, preferably AWS.
  • Experience with AWS tools like EMR, Sagemaker, ECS, Fargate, etc. a plus
  • Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • In-depth technical and problem-solving skills and evidence of continuous learning in the analytics field.

  • The primary location for this position is either Peoria, IL, Dallas, TX or Nashville, TN.
  • This role requires 3 days onsite.

Summary Pay Range:

$126,000.00 - $204,720.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
