Job Title: Pricing Analyst

Salary Grade: £41,593 + (depending on experience)

Location: Peterborough

About IPSD

Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L Cat® and Perkins engines across a wide range of applications. IPSD is actively supporting Caterpillar’s sustainability strategy, developing future-focused energy solutions.

Job Opportunity

We are seeking a commercially minded and analytically driven Pricing Analyst to support pricing activities within the Sales, Marketing, Servicing & Parts (SMSP) organization, with a focus on the Aftermarket sector.

This role is ideal for an individual looking to develop pricing expertise, contribute to data-driven decision making, and support initiatives that improve sales performance and profitability.

What You Will Do

  • Support price change implementation within established pricing governance frameworks

  • Support pricing projects and initiatives, including data transformation and system/process improvements

  • Analyse transactional, customer, and market data to generate insights and support pricing decisions

  • Assist in the development and execution of pricing strategies for products and services

  • Prepare clear, data-driven insights and business cases to support decision making

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (Sales, Finance, Marketing) to ensure alignment and execution

What You Have

  • Experience in a commercial, pricing, finance, or analytical role

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and draw insights

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to stakeholders

  • Good stakeholder engagement and relationship management capability

  • Ability to support decision making through structured analysis and sound judgement

  • Experience working with data tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, and analytics platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Dataiku)

Top candidates may demonstrate some of the following:

  • Experience working with pricing, sales, or financial data

  • Working knowledge of business strategy and commercial drivers

  • Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and support implementation

  • Proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop
