The Role:

  • This role is responsible for building and strengthening a robust pipeline of new business opportunities by partnering closely with the Power & Energy Business Unit, Cat Dealers, and end customers. With a clear focus on relationship development, the position proactively identifies and nurtures leads, laying the groundwork for future sales success. By engaging stakeholders early, qualifying opportunities, and advancing prospects through the initial stages of the sales lifecycle, the role ensures a steady flow of high-quality leads that are ready for seamless handoff to the sales team for conversion.

What You Will Do:

  • Following organizational policies and procedures and maintaining clear and direct line of communication within the organization to meet customer requirements.
  • Consult with dealers and internal business partners on the subject of sales and service support of product to “corporate account” customers.
  • Designing processes for informing customer of rates, shipping date, anticipated delays and any additional information needed by the customer.
  • Working directly with customers to collect information, sell additional products and services to current customers, and ensure customers' needs are met.

Skills Required:

  • Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply industry knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Negotiating: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

Additional information:

  • This role offers a balanced structure, with approximately 50% travel to engage directly with Power & Energy partners, Cat Dealers, and customers, and the remaining time based in the office to support pipeline development, coordination, and stakeholder alignment.
