About the Role:
A Senior Software Test Engineer will work both independently and with a cooperative team on complex projects that may span multiple infrastructure components or applications. In addition, this role will develop a professional network and leadership skills, assisting in the creation and support of Digital Solutions that enable Caterpillar success. It will also contribute real value by leading and assisting with development testing of legacy and new applications or infrastructure solutions in order to solve business problems and improve software quality.

What you will do:
- Design, modify, develop, write and implement tests for applications for target system using agile methods.
- Review client requirements with a team to build, test, and deploy solutions.
- Write automated test code for new applications, and/or generating and enhancing code samples for existing applications.
- Utilize automated testing tools to perform the testing and maintenance.
- Implement best practices and improve existing
- Mentor other QA team members
- Elevate quality standards with software engineers
What you will have:
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Software Development Life Cycle: Knowledge of software development life cycle; ability to use a structured methodology for delivering and managing new or enhanced software products to the marketplace. (staged and contrivutions at each step)
- Software Product Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of technical aspects of a software products; ability to design, configure and integrate technical aspects of software products.
- Software Product Testing: Knowledge of software product testing; ability to design, plan, and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure software product quality and adherence to stated requirements.
- System Testing: Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.
Additional Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in software test engineering (8 years if no degree)
- Strong proficiency in Cypress, Playwright, and/or TypeScript
- Demonstrated experience coaching and mentoring teams on quality best practices

Summary Pay Range:
$112,710.00 - $183,140.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
