Job Summary
As an EH&S Safety Manager , you will be responsible for influencing safety strategy, consistent processes and culture for three global divisions: Americas Distribution Services Division (ADSD), Cat Digital, and EAME. These divisions sit among a diverse group of facilities, working with management and support employees, SOS Service Labs, Mechanical Labs, Demonstration & Learning Centers, as well as shared facilities and satellite offices. In addition to being the point of contact for safety incidents, you will support the rollout of Corporate Safety Initiatives, partner with other EHS professionals, and provide indirect leadership.  
 

Additional Info:

  • This position is an on-site position located in Peoria, IL or Dallas, TX.

  • Relocation provided to our preferred locations. Other locations considered within 50 miles of a Cat facility. 

  • This position requires a minimum of 25% working time travel, both domestic and international.

What You Will Do:

  • Identifies common and more complex safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organizations operations and establishes guidelines for protection from those hazards.

  • Ensures EHS training is completed to comply with regulatory requirements or in support of facility, division, and enterprise objectives.

  • Audits safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions.

  • Monitors periodic performance reports for trends and conditions, alerts line management to problems and makes recommendations for improvement.

  • Sustainability: Knowledge of sustainability strategy; ability to integrate sustainability into the overall business strategy of the organization to build a sustainable business model.

  • Risk Management: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Collaborating and Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; Able to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

  • Overcoming Resistance to Change: Understanding and insight into the futility of refusing to accept the inevitable and ability to overcome resistance and adapt to a complex and changing environment.

  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance: Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.

  • Experience formulating and implementing new health and safety plans and policies.

  • Experience training employees on EHS policy compliance and measures understanding.

  • Collaborates across multiple departments to facilitate EHS management.

  • Experience with human and organizational performance (HOP).

Summary Pay Range:

$144,960.00 - $217,320.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
