As a Manager in our Data and Technology group within Global Tax, you will enhance data and processes utilizing digital skills, build visualizations, and support specific applications, especially within the Microsoft Power Platform and Snowflake. In this role, you will lead and support tax projects to delivery technology advancements and efficient solutions, without direct people management responsibility.  The role will challenge you to combine technical and business knowledge to complete a high-quality work product and demonstrate critical thinking skills that leads to recommended actions.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and maintain data strategy and governance, including control checks with system leads for evolving data availability and tax use cases
  • Execute process improvement and automation opportunities, driving efficiency and effectiveness both independently and through collaboration
  • Direct and lead system, application, and data enhancement projects through deployment lifecycle, including coordinating internal and external resources
  • Explore and implement new technology offerings and data sources to advance the digital skills and efficiencies of the tax department
  • Design, implement, and maintain dashboards, visualizations, and SharePoint sites
  • Accomplish a high level of technical analysis of data, analyze various outputs, advise others (inside and outside of tax), resolve data issues and effectively communicate outcomes
  • Work with business partners to understand informational needs and dive into data to identify insights, ultimately driving sound business decisions

What You Have:

  • Education/Experience:  The position typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, IT, or business related degree
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts; corresponds with a global audience and avoids technical jargon when communicating with business partners
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches and tools for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving problems; ability to document and convey resolution alternatives with understanding of stakeholder perspectives.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to identify root cause of problems based on prior experience and current research; organizes and prioritizes the sequence of steps to be taken to remedy a situation.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; demonstrates expertise in quality assurance tools, techniques, and standards.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Strong knowledge of M365, specifically Microsoft Power Platform and advanced excel skills
  • Experience working with data, including SQL, data warehouses and various dashboard applications
  • Aptitude for process design and technology, with a focus on controls
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Collaborative and team-oriented personality with ability to build and foster relationships throughout the organization
  • Understanding of accounting, business processes, financial systems and enterprise operations

Additional Details :

  • This position can be located in Dallas, TX, or Peoria, IL
  • This is a Hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in office
  • Domestic relocation is available for those who qualify
  • Travel expectation:  5-10%

Summary Pay Range:

$108,360.00 - $162,480.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
