Global trade compliance is evolving rapidly, creating an exciting opportunity to influence how Caterpillar navigates an increasingly complex global trade environment.

Caterpillar is looking to hire a Risk & Compliance Professional - Enterprise Trade Compliance. The Risk & Compliance Professional will lead initiatives to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability of Customs and Export Controls processes across the enterprise. Working in partnership with process owners, subject matter experts, and cross-functional stakeholders, this role will lead projects related to simplification, standardization, automation, and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance objectives are achieved. The successful candidate will leverage strong project management, process improvement, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills to drive change and deliver sustainable business outcomes.

What You Will Do:

  • Process Improvement & Transformation: Lead process improvement initiatives across Customs and Export Controls by partnering with process experts and enterprise stakeholders to simplify, standardize, automate, and strengthen compliance processes. Incorporate technology solutions and data to drive process efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Project Management & Execution: Manage multiple process improvement projects simultaneously, including project planning, stakeholder alignment, issue resolution, milestone tracking, and implementation support.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Influence: Build strong partnerships across enterprise functions to drive alignment and achieve project objectives without direct authority.

  • Change Management & Communications: Develop and deliver clear communications, training materials, and stakeholder engagement plans to support process adoption and organizational change.

What You Will Bring:

A successful candidate is a collaborative change agent who can bring structure to ambiguity, build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups, and drive meaningful process improvements that enhance compliance, efficiency, and business value.

Top Candidates Will Have:

  • 5-8 years of progressive experience leading projects and driving process improvements required.

  • Experience leading process improvement, continuous improvement, or business transformation initiatives.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive results in a matrixed environment without direct reporting authority.

  • Experience facilitating workshops, process mapping sessions, and cross-functional working teams.

  • Trade Compliance, Export Controls, Customs, Risk Management, or Compliance experience preferred.

  • Self-starter with strong analytical, problem-solving, and relationship management skills.

Additional Info:

  • The primary location for this role is Peoria, IL or Irving, TX.

  • Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify

  • Up to 20% travel is expected

  • Sponsorship is not available

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
