Job Summary:

The Manager of Facilities Engineering supervises all maintenance activities related to facilities and infrastructure within a hardware manufacturing plant or site. This leadership role ensures that the operational environment is maintained efficiently, reliably, and in accordance with organizational standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with engineers, partners, and suppliers to achieve business objectives, balancing the sustainable use of facilities with budgetary requirements.

  • Builds and manages a capable facility maintenance team and oversees the implementation of training sessions to guarantee high-quality performance standards.

  • Assesses the effectiveness of current utilities and equipment, identifies operational challenges and risks, and provides appropriate solutions to maintain operational excellence.

  • Oversees the inspection, repair, and upgrading of facilities, as well as related operational activities, ensuring the overall order and functionality of the site.

Educational Requirements:

  • A Bachelor´s Degreen in Mechatronics Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.

  • Intermediate – Advanced English

Skills:

Decision Making and Critical Thinking:

  • Explaining the characteristics and steps of a productive decision-making process.

  • Identifying issues and collaborating with others when decisions are necessary.

  • Describing the types of decisions that can and cannot be made within the position or function.

Effective Communications:

  • Describing non-verbal behaviors that influence message interpretation.

  • Providing examples of both effective and ineffective communications.

  • Speaking and writing using correct language, mechanics, and gestures.

Plant Facilities Management:

  • Demonstrating an understanding of key performance management concepts.

  • Describing the organization's performance management processes.

  • Explaining core performance factors and ratings utilized by the organization.

  • Participating in individual performance reviews or checkpoint sessions.

Problem Solving:

  • Explaining the value of a disciplined approach to problem solving.

  • Describing accepted problem reporting and escalation practices.

  • Utilizing established procedures for problem analysis and resolution.

Manufacturing Equipment:

  • Identifying project management tools and requirements for the function.

  • Describing key objectives, phases, and deliverables of current projects.

  • Explaining the concepts of phase, activity, task, and deliverable.

Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Polices:

  • Resolving common customer issues efficiently.

  • Responding to unexpected customer requests with urgency and positive action.

  • Providing direct service to both internal and external customers.

  • Documenting customer complaints promptly.

The best candidates will also have:

  • CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) training

  • Specific training for OEMs in machining centers

  • PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) Programming Training

  • Training in programming of industrial robots (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, etc.)

  • Industrial Automation Systems Training

  • Hydraulic System and Cylinder Testing Training

  • Electric Motor Control Systems Training

  • Industrial Instrumentation and Measurement Training

  • HVAC Equipment Training

  • Power Electrical Substation Training

  • Cooling Towers Systems Training

  • Power Electrical Generators Training

  • Overhead Cranes Training

  • Natural Gas Substation Training

Additional information:

  • This position will be in Cienega de Flores, Nuevo Leon

  • This position is six-days a week in-office model, from 6:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., subject to changes.
