Job Summary:

Caterpillar’s Electric Power Division has an open opportunity as a Senior Account Manager – Rental Power. The Senior Account Manager – Rental Power will be responsible for the global management, growth, and coordination of sales and integrated power solutions for strategic accounts, aligning customer needs with internal teams and the global Rental Power dealer network. Acts as the central point of accountability to ensure consistent execution, superior customer experience, and long-term value creation across regions.

What you will do:

Account Ownership & Strategy

  • Develop and execute global account strategies, building strong executive-level customer relationships.

  • Serve as the single point of coordination across customers, internal teams, and the global dealer network.

Sales, RFQ & Opportunity Management

  • Lead end-to-end RFQ and bidding processes, ensuring competitive, accurate, and compliant proposals.

  • Align dealers and internal stakeholders on pricing, specifications, and commercial strategy.

Dealer Network Collaboration

  • Coordinate and align the global Rental Power dealer network to deliver consistent account strategy and execution.

  • Facilitate collaboration across multiple dealers to support complex, multi-regional opportunities.

Technical Assessment & Solution Development

  • Coordinate and support site assessments to validate technical requirements and solution feasibility.

  • Translate customer needs and site conditions into optimized, executable rental power solutions.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Align internal teams and dealers to ensure seamless execution of customer requirements and timelines.

  • Standardize processes for RFQs, procurement workflows, and global opportunity tracking.

Customer Engagement & Experience

  • Maintain strong relationships through ongoing engagement, feedback, and structured business reviews.

  • Lead escalation management, ensuring timely and effective resolution across stakeholders.

Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor account performance and drive alignment with KPIs, service levels, and commitments.

  • Act as the voice of the customer to improve processes, solutions, and dealer collaboration.

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Level Working Knowledge:
Communicates clearly across global, cross-functional, and multicultural environments.

Translates technical and commercial concepts into customer-relevant messaging.

Negotiating: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Level Extensive Experience:
Leads complex negotiations with customers, internal stakeholders, and dealers.

Balances global account goals with local dealer business needs.

Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
Level Extensive Experience:
Builds long-term relationships with customers and global dealer partners.

Promotes collaboration and alignment across diverse stakeholders.

Account Management: Knowledge of account management; ability to manage day-to-day activities, providing services and support to existing clients.
Level Working Knowledge:
Coordinates day-to-day account activities across regions and functions.

Analyzes performance, pipeline, and RFQ outcomes to drive results.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Engineering, or related); MBA preferred with global account experience.

  • Proven experience managing multi-regional accounts, RFQs, and dealer/distribution networks.

Additional Information:

  • This position is located in Irving, TX or Houston, TX.

  • Travel up to 75% is required.

  • Domestic relocation assistance is offered for this position.

  • This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.

Summary Pay Range:

$147,760.00 - $221,640.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
