Caterpillar’s Electrification & Energy Solutions (E+ES) Division will focus on delivering advanced electrified power trains, zero-emissions products/technologies, and the solutions and services associated with these technologies. Focus areas include batteries, fuel cells, motors, inverters, micro grid controllers, charging, energy storage systems, lifecycle solutions/services, and integration of components for ePowertrain solutions across industries.

Job Summary

We are seeking a visionary and execution-focused Manufacturing Engineering Manager to help manage Caterpillar’s motor prototyping facility in Noblesville, Indiana. This site represents a pivotal step in advancing our division’s electrification strategy and will play a critical role in developing multiple motor technologies. You will be responsible for scaling operations, fostering a culture of innovation, safety, and collaboration. You will lead a team of operations professionals, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and delivering high-impact results.

• This role will be located in Noblesville, IN
• Up to 15% domestic travel will be required.
• This role does not provide relocation.

What you will do

  • Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing cross-functional team.
  • Oversee prototyping activities and ensure alignment with electrification technology roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain.
  • Drive continuous improvement, quality, and safety initiatives.

What you will have

  • Proven leadership experience in manufacturing, R&D, or prototyping environments.
  • Strong understanding of electric motor technologies and product development cycles.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, startup-like environment within a global enterprise.



Operations: Extensive knowledge of motor manufacturing plants and operations. Experience in a variety of operational roles from supply chain to quality.


• Designs awareness programs for multi- and cross-functional issues of the regulatory environment., and validation relevant industry practices from an operations perspective and works accordingly.
• Recommends efficiencies in operational functions wherever possible.

Collaborating: Extensive expertise in working cross functionally with engineering, design, testing, and validation in order to drive process design for manufacturability.


• Demonstrates experience engendering collaborative processes that lead to problem solving and the achievement of business goals.
• Deemphasizes divides; focuses on collaboration across generations, functions, regions, and levels.
• Implements methods for people to come together on the fly to make decisions, solve problems, and develop products/services.

Continuous Transformation: Working knowledge of evolving the business to remain competitive; ability to understand, adapt oneself to, respond to and proactively seek changes and innovation in the business environment to improve the competitive advantage of an organization.


• Implements new systems, procedures and tools efficiently when changes occur in the work environment.
• Explains lessons or experiences learned from mistakes and failures as well as successes.
• Communicates and analyzes assumptions about a particular issue with colleagues to gain new perspectives or more effective solutions.

Influencing Through Expertise: Working knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.

• Provides evidentiary support while giving opinions or recommendations to influence decision-making.

Project Management: Extensive knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.


• Plans, estimates, staffs, organizes and monitors significant projects.
• Identifies risks and vulnerabilities; creates contingency plans.
• Maintains open communication among project participants and interested parties.

Lean Manufacturing: Expert knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.


• Mentors others on the organizational and cultural transformation needed for effective lean implementation.
• Creates training programs for the approaches to developing and executing a lean supplier strategy.

Top candidates will also have

  • Demonstrated people leadership experience with a record of building high-performing teams and driving a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Experience leading startup or early-stage manufacturing/prototyping operations.
  • Working knowledge of electrification technologies (batteries, inverters, ePowertrain systems).

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
