Caterpillar’s Building Construction Products (BCP) division has an opening working as a Machine Technical Service Representative. Working hands-on with customers and dealers, our Technical Representatives provide customer and dealer support on Caterpillar machines. They represent Caterpillar face to face, reviewing and resolving customer needs onsite and within Caterpillar dealer facilities. Technical Representatives have a direct bottom line impact on Caterpillar and dealer financial results. Leadership and technical aptitude partnered with strong decision making and customer service skills are this role’s key to success.
What You’ll Do:
In this role, you will be on the frontline of supporting our network of dealers and customers in Europe. Cultivating strong customer and dealer relationships and using sound logic, you’ll be responsible for executing decisions on behalf of Caterpillar to ensure superb customer and dealer experience.
Represent Caterpillar at customer and dealer sites to understand customer needs and machine applications and performance
Travel to dealer locations to consult on product performance within assigned territory (across Europe, including, but not limited to, Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, Poland, Romania and Balkans)
Exercise strong decision-making skills, making judgements on complex products
Determine appropriate levels of support required for customer experience and peak product performance
Apply decisions to support and develop product sales, dealer effectiveness, overall segment growth and process improvements
Help dealers achieve higher service quality working with industry sales representatives to develop total customer solutions
Work with Service Specialists to ensure dealers meet targets for Customer Satisfaction
Liaison with Caterpillar Product Support Managers and Support Engineers for product enhancements and future developments
Educate/train dealers on Caterpillar product technical specifications
Stay abreast of industry and technology changes and learn to relate those changes to Caterpillar, dealer and customer needs.

How You’ll be Successful:
4+ years of engineering or product support experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of professional experience
Ability to travel up to 50%
Fluent in English and one other European language preferred (French, Spanish, Polish, would be an asset).
Good written and oral communications skills and the ability to articulate complex information in a simple and concise way.
Excellent interpersonal and team working skills, with the ability to successfully build relationships with a diverse group of individuals.
Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to manage own assignments.
Dynamic, team player with initiative.
Strong prioritization capability.
Ability to quickly adapt to complex changes, execute with ambiguity and drive advancement within the Caterpillar dealer organization
Additional Skills for Success (Desired Qualifications):
Construction equipment technical experience
Knowledge of Caterpillar dealer network
Technical aptitude and strong computer software skills to work in a suite of online Caterpillar systems
Strong time management and organization skills
Ability to work collaboratively effectively and respectfully
Ability to read engineering designs
Experience with PowerBI
Knowledge and understanding of how CAT machines operate
