Cat Digital is the digital and technology focused organization within Caterpillar, Inc. Our global team is responsible for bringing digital capabilities to Caterpillar’s world-famous yellow iron. Working with your yellow partners and Cat Dealers, we execute key components of digital and marketing portfolios, including global marketing & brand, enterprise data, analytics and AI, equipment management, eCommerce, digital marketing, rental & used digital solutions, and aftermarket leads & insights.
What You Will Do
As a Software Engineer on the Platform Services team, you will be responsible for developing backend APIs that can be used by multiple digital applications. The team currently develops variety of core/common & reusable services such as user onboarding, organization hierarchy, asset dynamic attributes, etc. into Caterpillar’s digital eco system.
What You Will Have - Skills and Experiences

Software Development: knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements
Software Development Life Cycle: knowledge of software development life cycle; ability to use a structured methodology for delivering and managing new or enhanced software products to the marketplace
Software Integration Engineering: knowledge of software integration processes and functions; ability to design, develop and maintain interfaces and linkage to alternative platforms and software packages
Software Product Design/Architecture: knowledge of software product design; ability to convert market requirements into software product design
Software Product Technical Knowledge: knowledge of technical aspects of a software product; ability to design, configure and integrate technical aspects of software products
Software Product Testing: knowledge of software product testing; ability to design, plan, and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure software product quality and adherence to stated requirements
Top Candidates May Have:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related degree (selected candidates must complete their degree by their start date)
0-2 years of relevant experience related to this field (internships or academic projects are a plus)
Minimum cumulative GPA requirement 3.0/ 4.0 (no rounding)
Experience in developing, maintaining and supporting back-end services using JAVA 25 or higher and SpringBoot RESTFul API Development
Experience deploying and maintaining software using public clouds such as AWS or Azure.
Additional Information
Ideal for those building foundational skills in software engineering, generally within the first 24 months of their career
Locations for this position are Peoria or Chicago Illinois
Basic relocation may be available, depending on relocation qualifications

Summary Pay Range:
$79,800.00 - $119,760.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
