Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. PSLD is responsible for the worldwide distribution of Cat aftermarket parts, integrated logistics, and global service to develop and support our global dealer network and customers.

Blue Yonder Invoice Content Generation Transportation Analyst (Self-Billing)

Working in the invoicing and freight settlement space for Prime Product transportation offers a unique blend of excitement and challenge. Every day, you get to collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage innovative technology, and ensure that financial processes align seamlessly with dynamic transportation operations. The fast-paced environment encourages creative problem-solving and continuous improvement, making each accomplishment especially rewarding as you help drive efficiency and accuracy in Caterpillar’s transportation space. This year, our goal is to strive for an annualized 375 Million USD to go through the self-billing process, with a focus on onboarding both ocean and ground carriers to further enhance our reach and operational impact.

Key responsibilities

1) Under the oversight of a program manager, operate the day to day end-to-end Blue Yonder Invoice Content Generation (ICG) process, ensuring the self-billing solution operates as designed with all onboarded business Partners.

2) Drive the deployment of the Invoice Content Generation solution to additional scope, additional carriers (ocean and ground) and for additional legal entities.

This includes:

  • coordination with the project team,

  • doing change management with change targets,

  • setting up the required master data,

  • adjusting job criteria in Blue Yonder and

  • installing a post go-live hypercare process.

3) Troubleshoot integration errors with key partner LIS / ILT by investigating source documents, system entries, and data integrations; collaborate to resolve issues promptly.

4) Act as the point of contact for inquiries and issues relating to self-billing, the Blue Yonder ICG process, and application of Prime Product guidelines in day-to-day operations.

5) Monitor solution performance and rating quality within Blue Yonder, proactively identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation.

6) Prepare and deliver regular reports on the project status, posted freight, key issues and roadblocks to project team.

7) Work with other ICG groups (GTOC-A) on Blue Yonder approval chain platform enhancements. Document business requirements and perform user acceptance testing with LIS.

8)Maintain thorough documentation of the ICG process, updates from the Prime Product ICG Guidelines, and any changes to self-billing procedures.

Core skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, demonstrating foundational knowledge and analytical ability relevant to finance, supply chain, or technology.

  • Strong appetite for working with software applications, including growing proficiency in Blue Yonder and interest in invoice content generation tools.

  • Interest in low-code applications and citizen development on platforms such as Power Automate, enabling process automation and workflow improvements with minimal programming.

  • Proficient knowledge of SQL language to query TMS related databases (Oracle, Snowflake) support job criteria changes, ad hoc analysis, UATs etc...

  • Meticulous master data management skills, ensuring high standards of data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across invoice processes.

  • Excellent attention to detail for reviewing and self-bill invoices and troubleshooting of discrepancies.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for coordinating with cross-functional teams and providing training on self-billing best practices.

  • Ability to maintain thorough documentation and prepare project updates for the project team or the project stakeholders.

  • Problem-solving skills to investigate source documents, system entries, and resolve issues promptly.

  • Proactive mindset to monitor system performance and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
