Job Summary
As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer with Electric Power, you will play a critical role in shaping next‑generation generator set solutions that power customers around the world. This role blends deep technical expertise with project and technical leadership, influencing product design from concept through production and throughout the full product life cycle. You will collaborate across global manufacturing sites, suppliers, and regulatory partners to deliver high‑quality, compliant, and cost‑effective solutions. By balancing performance, schedule, cost, and sustainability objectives, you will help drive innovation while meeting real‑world customer and business needs.

What You Will Do

  • Provide technical and project leadership for large‑scale engineering initiatives across multiple facilities and global manufacturing locations, managing scope, schedule, resources, cost, and quality tradeoffs.

  • Lead the design and development of new products, processes, components, and systems to meet customer requirements within internal manufacturing, supplier, and process capabilities.

  • Research new materials and competitive products; plan, coordinate, and execute prototype builds, testing, validation, and technical analysis.

  • Develop and document functional requirements and detailed design documentation; contribute to buy/build analyses, proposal development, cost estimates, and technical reports.

  • Provide engineering support for generator sets ranging from 20 kW to 2000 kW manufactured in Griffin, GA; Piracicaba, Brazil; and Seguin, TX, supporting products throughout the full product life cycle.

  • Engage with dealers and customers to provide technical leadership on customer projects and clearly communicate trade‑offs among schedule, cost, resources, and quality.

  • Collaborate with regulatory and validation experts to design components and systems that meet certification requirements such as CSA and UL.

  • Partner with manufacturing, supply chain specialists, and suppliers to optimize designs for cost, quality, manufacturability, and assembly; support supplier development and performance initiatives.

  • Provide technical direction and oversight to drafting, testing, and validation specialists.

  • Drive sustainability improvements through tighter emission controls, improved efficiency, and extended maintenance cycles.

Degree Requirement

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited institution.

  • Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Extensive experience and knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs; ability to produce, analyze, simulate and test product design drafts.

    • Coaches others on orthographic, isometric and axonometric projections.

    • Presents complex products and systems graphically.

    • Performs manipulations on design objects, such as changing projections and managing drawing layers.

    • Directs the matrix computations performed to transform objects in coordinate space.

    • Consults on benefits and drawbacks of top-down design vs. bottom-up design.

    • Compares and contrasts uses of bird's-eye views and worm's-eye views.

  • Product Design and Development: Extensive experience and knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

    • Develops organizational standards and processes in order to maximize complex product services' efficiency and effectiveness.

    • Creates and introduces new techniques that expedite or simplify the development process.

    • Supervises the management of multiple and diverse types of products or services.

    • Develops proof-of-concept exercises to prove or disprove validity of proposed products.

    • Advises on the appropriate solutions to complex product design and development problems.

    • Designs working prototypes of a variety of proposed products or services.

Additional Requirements

  • Demonstrated electrical design experience within a manufacturing or factory-facing environment

  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, product design, and manufacturing principles

  • Experience using CAD tools to develop and maintain engineering documentation

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability in a fast-paced production setting

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while collaborating across engineering and operations teams

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Generator set or power equipment product knowledge

  • Experience working in factory-facing engineering roles supporting production or assembly

  • Familiarity with Creo, Teamcenter or similar engineering systems

  • Understanding of applicable certification or regulatory standards (IBC, UL, CSA, NFPA, NEC)

  • Exposure to electromechanical systems or cross-disciplinary engineering environments

  • Self-starter mindset with strong initiative and collaborative team engagement

Additional Information

  • This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.

  • Travel up to 10% is possible.

  • Relocation is available for this position.

Summary Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00
