Job Purpose

To serve as an experienced individual contributor on projects and assignments that are CQL WL NPI and current products and that support and enhance Caterpillar Qingzhou process and produced WL performance, durability, reliability, quality and serviceability.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

This position will be responsible for CQL wheel loader machine performance management and L4&L5 machine & system performance simulation. It will include SEM brand wheel loader and Cat brand GC wheel loader. Working with machine integration team and system team to build performance related machine requirements, and audit, review the test validation data to make sure machine performance could meet the design requirements.

Responsible for machine master specification build, regular update and maintenance, accountable for data accuracy.

Lead complex analysis of machine performance, identify performance trends, competitive positioning, and gap areas, and develop actionable performance and control strategies to drive product competitiveness.

Lead complex analysis work, identifies machine performance trendline, marketing competitive, performance gap and problems, control problems and develop the performance development strategy, resolve problems.

Lead machine performance and specification generation and management to make sure data accuracy and well support relative requirements.

Although this position may be the transition from individual contributor to team leadership, the major focus of the job is on technical delivery. Incumbents may work more directly with different functional team from internal and external CQL Engineering, suppliers, customers, and/or other teams. This requires the ability to communicate technical information in a concise and accurate manner. Decisions made may affect the project team and its delivery of the project. Decisions may significantly impact on warranty, costs, sales, customer perception and leveraging new technologies.

Key areas of responsibility encountered in this role may include any or all of the following: machine performance and control strategy and logic requirements development; perform needs analysis and initiate ideas; evaluate new products or processes; perform product maintenance; keep up to date on new technologies or develop new technologies; communicate technical information to customers, team members, suppliers and other units; and support and advise other engineers, managers, marketing personnel, customers and suppliers.

Product Development in Manufacturing: Knowledge of methodologies, tools and techniques of product development; ability to design, build and manage manufacturing of new products.

Product Testing: Knowledge of product testing approaches, techniques and tools; ability to design, plan and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure product quality at all stages of manufacturing.

This position requires working onsite five days a week.
